Ronnie Screwvala is about to make a web series. This series will be based on espionage thriller stories under the banner of Ronnie’s own company, RSVP Company.
The series has been named ‘Panthers’. According to the information, it will show the exploits of the officers of the Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) in the midst of the second war between India and Pakistan after the Indo-China war.
The series has been directed by Rensil D’Silva, whose famous film ‘Dial 100′ will be released directly on OTT. Rensil has previously directed both the seasons of the popular TV series ’24’ as a director.
Producer Ronnie Screwvala said, “Panthers is the story of India’s burgeoning spy agency in a politically volatile setting. It is an eye-opening thriller with the right balance of realism and entertainment.”
He said, “Rensil is the right person to direct this. It is a project that will change the way political and espionage thrillers are viewed in India.”
Rensil D’Silva said, “The nation is embracing true stories like never before. All the covert operations mentioned in Panthers have taken place in real life. This series is a tribute to the daring feats of the RAW agency before it ascended to legendary status.”
Let us tell you that the shooting of this series will start next year. For this Ronnie has teamed up with his old partner Premnath Rajagopalan. Both have already started work on films like ‘A Thursday’ and ‘Dhyanchand’.
Producer Premnath Rajagopalan of Blue Monkey Films said, “When Mukesh Radha brought us this project, we were excited to collaborate with him and take it forward as this is a story that would make all Indians proud.”
Each episode of ‘Panthers’ will be around 45 minutes and each episode will show the story of a different detective. The first episode will begin with the incident in which a cross-border conspiracy to hijack Rajiv Gandhi’s plane was hatched and the RAW agents managed to uncover it in time.
Movies like ‘Sitara’, ‘Rashmi Rocket’, ‘Sam Manekshaw’, ‘Tejas’, ‘Pippa’, ‘Dispatch’, ‘Captain India’, ‘Kakuda’ and ‘Mission Majnu’ are already under production under the banner of RSVP.
