The Blacklist Season 9 is expected to premiere on Netflix in September 2022, as per What’s On Netflix.

Why isn’t The Blacklist available on Netflix in the UK?

With a few significant exceptions, The Blacklist is available on Netflix. The most notable exception is Netflix UK, which does not have any access to the show since the broadcast and streaming rights were sold to Sky.

For the time being, that’s all we have. We’ll keep you updated on when The Blacklist Season 9 will be available on Netflix, as well as any significant changes surrounding the show’s future, as we learn more.

Premises of the show

At the J. Edgar Hoover Building in Washington, D.C., Raymond “Red” Reddington, a former US Naval Intelligence officer who had gone missing twenty years ago and became one of the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives, surrenders to FBI Assistant Director Harold Cooper. Reddington claims he wants to assist the FBI track down and catching the crooks and terrorists he’s spent the previous two decades interacting with: people who are so dangerous and crafty that the US government is completely unaware of their existence.

He offers Cooper his expertise and aid on the condition that he be granted protection from prosecution and that he works exclusively with Elizabeth Keen, a rookie profiler who has recently been assigned to Cooper. Reddington’s interest in her seems suspect to Keen and Cooper, but he will only comment that she is “extremely unique.” In the first episode, Cooper puts Reddington’s offer to find and kill a terrorist to the test, and Reddington reveals that this man was only the first on his “blacklist” of global criminals, which he has compiled over the course of his criminal career, and that he and the FBI share a common interest in eliminating them.

As the series unfolds, the secrets of Reddington and Liz’s life, as well as his interest in her, are eventually exposed. There are a few exceptions with which each episode features one of the global criminals, and Reddington assists the team in tracking and apprehending them. In every such episode, the rank and name or alias of the featured criminal on Red’s blacklist are displayed at the close of the opening sequence.
