It’s been a long wait, but the steamiest show on Netflix, Dark Desire is back with its Season 2.
Dark Desire, the streaming giant’s romantic thriller from Leticia López Margalli, has returned this week. It is a Spanish original erotic thriller telenovela. It is filled with innumerable betrayals, even more hookups, and surprise twin brothers, a staple of telenovelas everywhere.
Following the release of Season 1 in 2020, both fans and critics have praised the show. It quickly became the most-watched non-English show on Netflix. The excellent production value and sophisticated plot were commended by critics. The guilty pleasure component, along with plenty of raunchy lovemaking sequences, keeps the audience engaged.
Dark Desire Season 2 Plot
The second season’s plot picks up just where the first season leaves off. Alma, who is now staying at her parents’ house, is distraught and seeks to regain control of her life. Her position at the university has been lost, her marriage to Leonardo has ended in divorce, and she is alienated from her daughter Zoe.
Alma is smitten with Dario and finds him lurking everywhere, and his image haunts her nightmares. She enrolls in a counseling program with a group of women, where she meets Lys, a mystery middle-aged woman with a secret of her own.
With his newly acquired inheritance, Dario travels to Mexico to marry Julieta, his true love. However, his rekindled affair with Alma eventually flips their worlds upside down.
As secrets from Dario’s background come to light, sad circumstances result in the death of his fiancee Julieta. Alma must now choose between reimagining a future with Dario, as she had always wished, and accepting the truth and doing the right thing.
