After an explosive South American adventure in Season 2, Jack Ryan and James Greer are coming back for Jack Ryan Season 3. The third season of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, along with the Lord of the Rings series and the third season of The Boys, is one of the most anticipated Amazon Prime shows. During the Television Critics Association press tour in February 2019, Amazon confirmed the renewal of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan for a third season. Based on the novels written by Tom Clancy, the first season of Jack Ryan aired on August 13, 2018, and the second season premiered on October 31, 2019. The show is adapted by Graham Roland and Carlton Cuse.

With over 7.3 million viewers turning in to see the political thriller starring The Office star John Krasinski in the first week of Season two’s launch, it’s safe to say that there’s a lot of anticipation for Ryan’s season 3 missions.

Here’s everything you need to know about Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan Season 3:

What is the plot of Jack Ryan Season 3?

Jack Ryan Season 3 Release Date

Jack Ryan Season 2 featured CIA Officer Jack Ryan travelling to South America to investigate a potential suspicious shipment of illegal arms in the Venezuelan jungle. As Jack’s investigation threatens to expose a far-reaching conspiracy, Venezuela’s President launches a counter-attack that hits home for Jack, sending him and his fellow operatives on a global mission spanning the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, and Venezuela to unravel the President’s devious plan that brought stability to a country on the verge of chaos.

According to Deadline, since Ryan has uncovered a global conspiracy behind nuclear weapons, in Season 3, he is a fugitive on the run from the CIA and an “international rogue faction”. Ryan is trying to stay alive while hiding in Europe while also putting a stop to the nefarious forces working against him and the greater good.

Dr Mueller is an important character in the Tom Clancy novel series on which Jack Ryan is based. In the stories, she and Jack fall in love, marry and have a family with kids. She even takes on the role of First Lady when Jack is elected President. It seemed strange when the show introduced a crucial character from the source material just to have her disappear without explanation in season 2. So that remains as a question and possible narrative for Jack Ryan Season 3.

Who is in the cast of Jack Ryan Season 3?

Krasinski will obviously reprise his role as Ryan. Greer is hoping to return for more of an administrative role. The abrupt ending of Cathy and Ryan’s romance will finally get an explanation as Abbie Cornish will be reprising her role (but not until season 4). Since Betty Gabriel has left the show because of creative differences, she’ll be replaced by Marianne Jean-Baptiste as Elizabeth Wright, the Chief of Station. Other new cast members include James Cosmo as Luca, Peter Guinness as Petr, Nina Hoss as Alena, and Alexej Manvelov as Alexei. Amazon has also announced that Michael Peña will be joining the cast in an undisclosed role.

Is Jack Ryan Season 3 the finale?

No! As confirmed by team Jack Ryan, fans will be delighted to know that Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan has been commissioned for a fourth season.
