If you were waiting to add some sweetness to this February, along with love, of course, you might have to wait longer. We have a piece of bad news. Sweet Tooth Season 2 isn’t returning just yet.
While this may disappoint the fans, this is not all. It seems the wait is not going to end anytime soon as there is not much known about Sweet Tooth Season 2 or its return to our screens.
Here is everything we know so far about the Netflix’s half-human, half-deer’s adventurous journey to the next season.
Sweet Tooth Season 2 Release Date: Is the series renewed?
While there’s no official confirmation about the renewal of the series, according to Netflix Life, Sweet Tooth Season 2 has already received a green signal back in July 2021. It’s reported that the series was to begin filming in January 2022, but whether it has been already on the floor or has been pushed forward is still unclear.
Several reports also suggested that the series will return to Auckland, New Zealand for the filming. However, none of this seems to be confirmed by the makers or the production house.
The fact that Sweet Tooth was well-received by the audience, because, after all, who wouldn’t want to have more of that cute 10-year-old half-human and half-deer face called Gus played by Christian Convery, adds to the possibility of Sweet Tooth Season 2.
That said, the truth remains the same in the absence of official confirmation or announcement, it’s difficult to predict what the future has in store for the fantasy drama series.
If all goes well, and if, as aforementioned, the series has started production earlier this year, there are high chances that it could wrap up the production work by summer this year and transition into the post-production stage, which obviously will take, at least, a few months, if not more, to get completed.
This makes it clear and obvious that even if the series is happening, it won’t be releasing before the end of this year, at the earliest.

A 2023 release could also not be ignored, so to say.
Moreover, what’s adding fuel to all the rumors is the fact that Netflix has a history of coming back with seasons for the much-loved series. While, mostly, such series take their deserved time to be back once again, it sometimes is as early as within a year or so.
And if you have been living under a rock and are unaware of what Sweet Tooth actually is and why such a craze for Sweet Tooth Season 2, here’s the official trailer to give you a sneak-peek into the life of Gus, and why is the series named Sweet Tooth.
And as Netflix’s official synopsis reads, “Based on the beloved DC Comic, and Executive Produced by Susan Downey & Robert Downey Jr., Sweet Tooth is a post-apocalyptic fairytale about a hybrid deer-boy and a wandering loner who embark on an extraordinary adventure,” the emotional quotient seems even higher.
And in case you are wondering how this great graphic novel was adapted into an 8 episodes series, you have the man himself, sharing insights about the story’s journey from the book to the screens.
