Netflix’s latest broadcast network-style sitcom, Pretty Smart, aired in early October 2021. It’s shot on a standard living room comedy set, and a laugh track adds to the simplicity of the gags.
Chelsea (Emily Osment), a stylish, Harvard-educated aspiring author, moves in with her sister Claire (Olivia Macklin) in Los Angeles when her boyfriend leaves her in the series. Chelsea and Claire are diametrically opposed individuals. Claire is a bright, carefree waitress who is both beautiful and illiterate. Chelsea looks down on Claire since she is less intelligent than her. This has damaged their friendship. naturally, as they live together, they get closer.
Chelsea also becomes closer to Claire’s roommates, including Jayden (Michael Hsu Rosen), a social media personality, Solana (Cinthya Carmona), a former lawyer-turned-New Age healer, and Grant (Gregg Sulkin), Claire’s gorgeous ex-boyfriend and Chelsea’s co-worker at Build.
Pretty Smart Season 1 features a lighthearted comedy featuring two former Disney Channel stars (Osment and Sulkin). Here’s everything we know — or are prepared to speculate on — about Pretty Smart Season 2.
Pretty Smart Season 2 Release Date
Netflix has not yet renewed Pretty Smart Season 2 as of late January 2022. As a result, there is no release date for ardent fans of the novice sitcom series to share, nor is there any way to predict when work on Season 2 will begin.
We can also confirm that the next set of episodes that Netflix may release will be a second season, not a second instalment. Pretty Smart had ten half-hour episodes in its inaugural season, all of which were shot at Sunset Bronson Studios in Los Angeles, California. Seasons are often broken into parts on Netflix, with halves of a season arriving a few months apart.
That doesn’t appear to be the case with Pretty Smart, which is labelled Season 1 rather than Part 1 on Netflix. If Netflix decides to continue Pretty Smart, we should learn the episode order as well as the premiere date.
Pretty Smart Season 2 Cast
It’s unknown which Pretty Smart cast members will return for Season 2 due to the lack of a renewal announcement. Fans might fairly expect the same actors from Season 1 to return, given that there were no major departures or fatalities in the Season 1 conclusion. Emily Osment, Gregg Sulkin, Olivia Macklin, Michael Hsu Rosen, and Cinthya Carmona are among the cast members. Kevin Miles – better known as Jake from State Farm – as Dave, Claire’s ex-boyfriend, as well as Geoff Ross as Howard, the manager at the restaurant where Claire works, and Ming-Na Wen as Jasmine, Jayden’s mother – might all make cameo appearances.
Some of the behind-the-scenes personnel are also expected to return. Jack Dolgen and Doug Mand, who previously collaborated on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, are the show’s creators and executive producers. Kourtney Kang, who helped conceive How I Met Your Mother and Doogie Kamealoha, M.D., and Pamela Fryman, who directed three episodes of Pretty Smart, including the pilot, as well as most episodes of How I Met Your Mother, are also executive producers.
Pretty Smart Season 2 Plot
The first season of Pretty Smart concluded on a cliffhanger, with Claire (Olivia Macklin) breaking up with Dave (Kevin Miles) and kissing Grant (Gregg Sulkin). Chelsea (Emily Osment) rushes into the room just as they kiss to tell her sister she wants to talk to her about wanting to pursue a relationship with Grant because they want to make sure Claire is alright first. What will the outcome of this tangled love triangle be? When Season 2 begins, this will most likely be the most important topic to discuss. “I have no idea what will happen in Season 2,” Osment said to Entertainment Tonight. “As a result, I’m quite eager to watch.”
After this, predicting the plot of the show is something that we cannot do but surely what we can do is wait to see if the series gets renewed for a second season.
