Welcome back to Hawkins, Indiana! “Keep the door open three inches.”
If, like us, you binge-watched the entire last season of Stranger Things a long time ago, and cried your heart out watching how everything went down for our favorite kids and Sheriff. You’ll be looking for any information regarding the upcoming season! Thankfully, the fourth season of the Netflix sci-fi adventure is on the way. The show’s fourth season has been confirmed to be released in 2022.
Here’s everything we know so far about Stranger Things 4:
When is Stranger Things 4 releasing?
Stranger Things 4 will premiere in the summer of 2022, according to Netflix. All we know as of January 2022 is that filming has wrapped, and the fourth season will now be in post-production. Shawn Levy, the season’s producer, has reportedly commented that the season has taken longer than intended, but that it is ‘worth the wait.’
What’s the plot for Stranger Things 4?
Stranger Things fans were flabbergasted when Season 3 premiered on Netflix in July 2019. Those who began watching the show in the hopes of having a nice time, on July 4, ended up weeping in their beds by the end of the last, very dramatic episode.

Stranger Things is set in Hawkins, Indiana, in the 1980s, in a small rural town where people mostly keep to themselves. Many characters are pulled together when it is found that Hawkins Laboratory is conducting secret, supernatural experiments on human test subjects, as well as a portal into an otherworldly realm known as “the Upside Down.”
All the fans were concerned about Jim Hopper at the end of season 3. Despite the tear-jerking end, Hopper is very much alive, folks. In the latest teaser, a bald-headed Hopper is seen in Russia. So the biggest question is how he ended up in Russia if the portal was destroyed. How will he get back home? The Russians also have a Demogorgon in captivity, and that’s surely going to be trouble in season four. When asked about the upcoming season, David Harbour, who plays Hopper in the show, said: “In season four we will give you a big, huge reveal about Hopper’s backstory, which we haven’t really told you about… we’re gonna express it in a big way,” in an interview with Liverpool Comic-Con.
The writers of the show unveiled the title of the first episode of the upcoming season in November 2020: Chapter One: The Hellfire Club
