Season two of This Way Up left us with a sombre feeling in the final moments, and fans have been wondering since the finale aired on July 14, 2021.
Aisling Bea created and starred in the British comedy-drama, This Way Up, which garnered both critical and popular acclaim for season one and earned her a BAFTA nomination for Breakthrough Talent. As shows like Fleabag and This Way Up prove, English women have no shortage of talent. The show’s cinematography is an added bonus for capturing the beauty of London and its people. The show follows Aina, a single young Irish woman living in London, as she recovers from a mental breakdown. The comedy series first premiered on August 8, 2019, on the network Channel 4.

This Way Up Season 3 Plot: What can we expect?
We met Aina two years ago in season one as a young Irish English language teacher navigating through life while recovering from a bad breakup that led to a severe mental breakdown. Aine has yet to address her feelings for her boss, Richard, at the end of season one, while her recently engaged sister Shona has just shared an unexpected, drunken kiss with her business partner.
In Season 2, Aine and Richard finally declared their feelings for one another, despite the fact that Shona is the only one who knows about it. Shona’s relationship with Vish, as well as her complicated feelings, has been central to her narrative throughout season two. It had to happen at some point, and it did when Shona accidentally left a voicemail for the wrong person. The consequences of this voicemail, which revealed her affair, are a topic for Season 3. With Tom’s loss, Aina is also having a breakdown. This Way Up Season 2 ended with the two sisters at a crossroads, and now they must figure it out in season 3.
This Way Up Season 3 Cast:
Aisling Bea will, of course, reprise her role as Aine. The new cast for Season 3 has not been announced yet, but the series regulars are expected to return if the new season gets a go-ahead. Among them are Aine by Aisling Bea; Bradley (Aine’s flatmate) by Kadiff Kirwan; Charlotte (Shona’s colleague) by Indira Varma; Shona (Aine’s sister) by Sharon Horgan; Vish (Shona’s partner) by Aasif Mandvi; Richard (Etienne’s father) by Tobias Menzies; Étienne (Aine’s 12-year-old French pupil) by Dorian Grover; Chien by Pik-Sen Lim; James by Ekow Quartey; Freddie by Chris Geere; Tom by Ricky Grover.
