A Superior Day: Release date, trailer and everything we know so far

My Name, Beyond Evil, and Vagabond are just a few crime-thriller dramas that have done exceptionally well with both the audience and critics. One of the most recent ones is One Ordinary Day starring Kim Soo-hyun and Cha Seung-won. The story was about an ordinary guy, just going out for a party with his friends like any other ordinary day but ends up being framed for a ruthless murder. The plot, acting, and execution gained praise from everyone.

The Korean television industry is yet again prepared to release another crime-thriller with an interesting plotline, named A Superior Day, directed by Jo Nam-hyeong. Based on a webtoon, the drama depicts the most ordinary dad that must kill a serial killer who lives next door to save his kidnapped daughter.

A Superior Day Plot

Lee Ho-cheol is a firefighter. He’s a regular man who adores his wife and daughter. The media has recently focused on an unresolved serial killer case. The case has nothing to do with Lee Ho-cheol but he gets a text message with a photo and the words, “I will let you know who the serial killer is”. The image shows a man carrying a bloody knife and standing next to a murdered person.

Lee realizes Kwon Si-Woo, his next-door neighbor, is the one holding the knife. He gets a new text message that says, “Kill Kwon Si-Woo within 24 hours. If you don’t, you will not see your daughter again.” This leads him to notice his daughter is missing.

Meanwhile, Bae Tae-jin is the one who sent the message. He’s a hired hitman on the trail of serial killer Kwon Si-Woo. Bae devises a plan in an attempt to kill Kwon by taking the help of Lee.

Kwon appears to be a nice young man with a good-looking face, yet he is a psychopath. Killing people gives him a sense of superiority.

A Superior Day Release Date and Trailer

The first episode of A Superior Day is set to premiere on March 13, 2022, at 10:30 pm KST on OCN and Viu. The episodes will release on a weekly basis, with an episode released every Sunday. The drama has 8 episodes in total.

A Superior Day Cast

Jin Goo will be seen as Lee Ho-cheol. Jin Goo is best known for his role as Bong Joon-ho in the 2009 noir thriller Mother. He also won the Best Supporting Actor at the Grand Bell Awards and Blue Dragon Film Awards for the same. He is also famous for his role in the fan-favorite and critically acclaimed Descendants of the Sun.

Ha Do-kwon will play Bae Tae-jin. Ha is a Seoul National University graduate with a major in vocal music. He is best known for his roles in Hot Stove League and The Penthouse: War in Life.

The serial killer Kwon Si-woo will be played by Lee Won-geun. Won-geun made his acting debut in the 2012 popular historical television drama Moon Embracing the Sun and is best known for starring in the high school drama Cheer Up! (2015) as well as the film Misbehavior (2017) and One the Woman (2021).
