A thriller movie makes us twitch in our seats, leaves us with sweat in the palms, and still leaves us wanting for more. There is always a societal wrong that is been tackled in a way in thrillers that is indeed commendable.
One such thriller, Windfall, is on its way. The thriller genre might be repeating concepts and emergence of psychological and crime thrillers might curb this segment but one needs to know the genre is what that has given rise to mystery which further lead on to this new journey.
The movie has been a part of discussion as it happens to be of the dark genre despite the free flowing sarcasm in the dialogues. One needs to watch the movie to understand the underlying satire in the statement. The shooting began in July 2021 but was wrapped only this year after which it was sold to Netflix.
Here is everything we know so far about Windfall.
Windfall Release Date
Windfall is all set to release on Netflix on March 18, 2022.
Windfall Trailer
The trailer which was released a week ago was highly provocative as it has a tinge of sarcasm, the kidnapper looks like an amateur with a purpose whereas the couple also the protagonists, seem interested in helping this man.
Hey, do we have a visitor? Or an intruder? Even worse, what if this is a trap? All anxieties are seen with our characters when a casual billionaire with his lavish luggage enters his vacation home with his wife, where she is the first one to see a man hidden. What seems like is that the intruder wanted to be seen and this was a planned move.
The husband and wife seem to care for each other but the love seems missing and we can let the movie break the misconception for us. What also looks like is the sarcastic flow of dialogues between both men is less of chivalry and more of rivalry. Class and money will surely be at play here to show the dark side using humor but a possible angle can be the wife being involved in an affair with the intruder itself. All these are just theories which will be clarified on March 18, 2022.
The official synopsis by Netflix reads, “A man breaks into a tech billionaire’s empty vacation home, but things go sideways when the arrogant mogul and his wife arrive for a last-minute getaway.”
Windfall Cast
Jason Segel and Lily Collins are in the lead roles. Both are famous for their roles in How I met your mother etc, shows. It is directed by McDowell’s who is the son of another famous director. Jason plays the stranger whereas Lily is the wife of the Billionaire. Jesse Plemons has the resting face of a tired Billionaire who is in desperate need of a drink along his poolside with his beloved and surely suits the role.
Sneak peeks into Windfall
A Hitchcockian thriller where a man breaks into the house to steal only to realize the Billionaire couple is back, we need to see the confrontation with the wife and why she chose to conceal the man’s identity till her husband was finally trapped. The kidnapper seems desperate and the movie will focus on social issues clearly. This would be the turning point in the thriller plot.
The movie was shot during the early phases of the pandemic and clearly exhibits the value of isolation and the need for spending quality time away from the hustle and bustle to have a healthy relationship.
The movie challenges a lot of notions in a subtle way and the first look has left a lot of buzz in the viewers, we are yet to be taken by surprise by this piece of work in the form of a Hitchcockian thriller.
