Is It Cake? is bringing the top nine of the world’s most talented bakers to compete to create the most realistic cakes that look like everyday objects. The idea for a reality show seems to have come from the ongoing trends on social media. Remember, all those videos of realistic cakes which are difficult to identified until the baker cuts into it to make you believe yes, it is a cake?

The celebrity judges will have to guess whether an everyday object is, in reality, a hyper realistic cake. It could be any object like a wallet, a pencil, a chicken or a burger, all of these in reality are cakes. The judges got to perform the task of recognizing which one is fact and which one fiction. The trailer already shows us such realistic cakes like shoes, bags, bowling ball etc. In most of the cases the guesses were wrong and as per the presentation and skills, the players were awarded points.

The panel consists of judges all from the field of food, creativity and lot more, information from the official handles suggest that the panel consists of Bobby Moynihan, Karamo Brown, Loni Love, Michael Yo, Fortune Feimster, Rebecca Black, King Princess, Arturo Castro, Meme Queen Brittany Broski, and Day’s SNL co-star Heidi Gardner.

The premiere of the reality show will be on March 18, 2022. There will be a drop of 45-minute long episodes. Now why would you need 45 minutes just for watching a culinary show? The contesting chefs are Andrew Fuller, April Julian, Desiree Salaverria, Hemu Basu, Jonny Manganello, Justin Rasmussen-Ellen, Nina Charles, Sam Cade, and Steve Weiss. Why are they even selected? Each have the ability to make cakes, they are either homemakers, professionals or local award and title winners. What binds them is their passion for making such mind boggling cakes, and also the struggle for recognition of talent and having it monetized.
