What if we lived in a multiverse? What if we could have done things differently? What if our minds had the power to control the world? The world of what-ifs can be infinite. But why are we doing this what if trivia? Because why not? Let’s not confuse you and get straight to the point of What If…?

What if…? is an anthology series created by A. C. Bradley for Disney + and is based on the Marvel Comics series of the same name. It is the fourth television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) produced by Marvel Studios and the studio’s first animated series. The series reimagines noteworthy events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and creates a multiverse of infinite possibilities. This justifies the name, isn’t it?

This series became very popular among Marvel fans in 2021 and they’ve been waiting impatiently since 2021 to see what the second season of this series will bring and how many what-ifs will be explored in What If…? Season 2. Everything sounds so ironic right now.

Here’s everything we know about What If…? Season 2 so far:

What if…? Season 2: Is there a release date yet?

A second season of What If…? was confirmed as the first was coming out, and it has recently been confirmed to premiere on Disney Plus in 2022 by head writer A.C. Bradley.

Check out the post below:

Mark Winderbaum, the producer at Marvel Studios, told Collider: “As you know with animation, it takes a long time to produce. We were fortunate enough to get the green light on a second season early enough to have a chance to release it next year. We’ll see what happens. Obviously, I don’t want to predict the future with this new world we live in, but our intention is to make it an annual release.”

The actual release date is yet to be confirmed but we can expect that the series will premiere somewhere toward the end of 2022.

What If…? Season 2 Plot

What if Season 2

The series is in an anthology format so we expect to see a combination of various superheroes as the center characters and adaptations of popular Elseworlds stories for the plot of this season. There are chances that we’ll see some new heroes and villains in the upcoming season.

“It’s going to be all-new stories, lots of fun, new heroes, and pulling more from Phase Four than we were obviously able to this season,” A.C. Bradley, head writer on What If…?, told Entertainment Weekly.

“Hopefully, we’ll see hints of Eternals and Shang-Chi and the Black Widow characters. The fun of What If…? is that we get to explore the entire infinite multiverse, so we try and bounce around as much as we can,” he said.

What If….? Season 2 Cast

We’re hoping to see the main characters return in Season 2 and if this season will tackle plot points from Phase 4, then many actors from Black Widow, Shang-Chi, The Legend of the Ten Rings, and Eternals could also make appearances in the show.

How many episodes will What If….? Season 2 have?

What If…? Season 2 might have 9 episodes, each around 30 minutes. According to Winderbaum, “We targeted ‘a half-hour’ for each episode. Some of them come in a little longer, some of them come in a little shorter. And really it was all about producible time. We wanted to tell as many stories as we could. And we had a certain budget we had to work with, so it felt like that ten episodes (now nine-episode) run was the right quantity.

How many episodes are there in Season 1 of What If…?

Short answer. Season 1, too, had 9 episodes.

Where can I watch What If….? Season 1?

What If….? Season 1 is streaming exclusively on Disney+.

Is What If on Netflix?

No. Just like other Marvel shows What If…? is not on Netflix and neither it will ever be. Moreover, all the previous Marvel shows that were on Netflix for quite a time migrated to Disney+ given that The Walt Disney Company had acquired Marvel Entertainment back in 2009.
