You Season 5 Release Date: When will it premiere?
We regret to inform the readers that the highly anticipated fifth and final season of “You,” will not be available to stream anytime soon!
The series renewal for a fifth and final season was announced a month later, in March 2023, after the premiere of the fourth season on the streaming platform. Since then, the exact premiere date has yet to be announced, but for the readers who are curious to know more, we can assure you that the final season has been confirmed to return sometime in 2024 on Netflix.
We predict that the fans can expect the new episodes to arrive as soon as early 2024, with February being the likely release window, as the fourth season is also planned for the same timeframe. This gap is typical for a show of this caliber to wrap up its meticulous production on schedule, especially when the current writer’s strike can cause a major delay in its release as the production of new episodes has yet to begin.
But if we have to speculate, then the new season might begin filming sometime later this year once the strike concludes and scripts are completed. Of course, this is just speculation, and we’ll have to wait sometime for Netflix to confirm these details in the near future. Until then, the fans should take the reports with a grain of salt!

You Season 5: What to expect in the final season?
The final season will carry on from where the prior season ended, with Joe having finally admitted that his life is fundamentally immoral and having returned to New York City with his wealthy partner Kate (Charlotte Ritchie) and a perilous new perspective. “I think it sets us up to actually have a really great finale season,” said Badgley in an interview with Tudum ahead of Season 4’s debut. Further adding, “Can his inner monologue evolve some now? What does it mean for him to accept himself?”
“We intend to bring her every idea we can from our company for years to come,” they said before revealing that telling Joe’s story in five seasons had always been the plan. “Ever since our friends at Alloy shared Caroline Kepnes’ fantastic book, we have always conceived it as a five-season journey. We are excited to continue our relationship with Mike and Justin as they take over the reins as co-showrunners and prepare to bring Joe Goldberg home.”
“You became an instant sensation on Netflix with a resounding cultural impact that has grown season over season,” said Peter Friedlander, Netflix’s VP of Scripted Series. “We’re excited — and a bit terrified — to see how it all ends for Joe Goldberg, but one thing is for sure: You are in for an unforgettable ending.” All these statements have excited the fandom more than ever to see how the story will be concluded after all the madness of the last four seasons, which fans have loved to binge-watch.
As of writing this, when it comes to the cast members of the final season the network has not revealed anything but one thing is certain that Penn Badgley as Joe Goldberg will return for the last chapter. More casting will be announced later as the story of the show will be different which needs new characters to conclude the overall plot. Moreover, the series creator Sara Gamble will step down from her role as showrunner and fellow executive producers Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo will take over as showrunners.

“As I step back from day-to-day show running to focus on new projects, I’m immensely grateful to co-creator and all-around genius Greg Berlanti, Caroline Kepnes, my friends at Berlanti Productions and Alloy Entertainment, and our steadfast partners at Warner Bros and Netflix,” said Gamble.
Further adding, “Making the show alongside our writers, producers, directors, cast, and crew has been an honor and ridiculously fun. And I feel lucky to have worked with an artist as gifted and thoughtful as Penn Badgley. I’m proud of what we’ve all accomplished and feel privileged to pass the torch. I’m excited to watch and support the You team as they bring Joe Goldberg’s journey to its delightfully twisted conclusion.”
Additionally, Berlanti and Schechter expressed their excitement about working with Foley and Lo in their statement, thanking Gamble for overseeing the show.
“We are so incredibly grateful to Netflix and Sera and everyone that has been a part of this show from the beginning. Sera is the most brilliant writer and partner and she will remain a key part of the You family as an executive producer. We intend to bring her every idea we can from our company for years to come,” said Berlanti and Schechter. “We are excited to continue our relationship with Mike and Justin as they take over the reins as co-showrunners and prepare to bring Joe Goldberg home.”
Foley and Lo also added, “Working with Greg and Sera on You has been a highlight of our careers and we’re incredibly honored to be entrusted with the final chapter of Joe Goldberg’s story.”

In the fourth season, Joe Goldberg, posing as “Johnathan Moore,” is now residing in London, working as an English professor at a respected institution, and leading a sedate existence.
