Well, after all the chaos in her life ‘Crazy Devi’ has finally found her love interest, got into her dream college, graduated with her friends, lost her virginity, and is all set to move on to her new college life. Yes folks, you are right we are talking about Devi Vishwakumar, our favorite problematic teen from Never Have I Ever. However, things are now settled for Devi and hence we have to bid adieu to our favorite girl as she moves ahead in her life. The fourth season was the final season and it is confirmed that our loved show would not be coming back for Season 5.
Why is Never Have I Ever Season 5 canceled?
Netflix renewed one of the best teen drama series Never Have I Ever for its fourth season in March 2022, the same time it confirmed that the upcoming season will be the fourth and final season. The creator of the series Minda Kailing justified her decision of wrapping up the series in one of the interviews with Entertainment Tonight, she told, “Four seasons for a high school show felt like it made sense. They can’t be in high school forever. We’ve seen those shows. Like you have been in high school for 10 years. What is going on here? Also, the actors get older and it starts looking insane that a 34-year-old is playing a 15-year-old.”
She further said, “Some things are built-in doing a high school show that felt like, Okay, this is time. But the truth is, we got to know the characters. The great thing about doing it on Netflix is that we got to tell stories that you wouldn’t necessarily be able to tell in traditional network shows and so we feel good.” She concluded by saying, “We really told the story of a 15-year-old girl and that felt like the perfect amount of time.”
However, the fans are still trying to get over this sad news, but let us all draw our attention to what John McEnroe said towards the end of the final episode, “So, this is John McEnroe live, signing off. For now.” This leaves room for the show to be taken forward if ever, considered to return back in the future.

What is Never Have I Ever Season 4 about?
The fourth and final episode released on 8th June 2023. After the loose ends left in Season 3 ending, this season follows the story from where it left off. Devi and Ben have sex and right after which things get awkward between them which pushes them into different positions. We get to see a new face this season; Ethan, they both have a moment and they start dating until she realizes that she was just sexually attracted to him and he is not good company for her and they break up. During their visit to their respective college, Ben and Devi get caught up in a long conversation and both end up getting back on talking terms. Later in the season, Devi struggles with her college applications as she gets deferred at Princeton. We also see Paxton this season as he is back from ASU.
Furthermore, Devi gets to know about her mother’s interest in a man, gets rejected by seven colleges, and is waitlisted at Princeton, this season is full of ups and downs. But we do get a happy ending. Devi finally gets to Princeton, Ben flies miles away to confess his love for Devi, she says it back too. The ending gives a sneak peek of everyone’s life after Sherman Oaks.
