T.J. Miller has changed his stance on Ryan Reynolds after calling him out for being “horrifically mean” two years ago.
While appearing on SiriusXM’s The Bonfire podcast this week, the comedian and actor clarified where his relationship with his ‘Deadpool’ co-star currently stands. When asked whether he will be up for sharing the screen with the actor in the next Deadpool movie, he noted, “I think he’s just been such a good friend right now that I think it would be really— I think that would be awesome.”
Miller portrayed the character of Weasel in ‘Deadpool,’ and ‘Deadpool 2,’ alongside Reynolds’ Wade Wilson, aka., Deadpool. However, the ‘Silicon Valley’ actor was not picked for the third movie, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, which hit impressive numbers at the box office, surpassing its prequels. This was because he was facing arrests and harassment cases at the time.
After shooting ‘Deadpool 2’ in 2022, Miller appeared on The Adam Carolla Show revealing that the ‘Free Fall’ actor had bullied him on set while being in character as Deadpool.
He explained the incident saying, “He was like, ‘You know what’s great about you, Weasel? You’re not the star, but you do just enough exposition that it’s funny, and then we can leave and get back to the real movie.”
Due to this “weird moment,” as Miller terms it, he noted that he would not want to work with Reynolds again on screen. He declared at the time, “Would I work with him again? No. I would not work with him again.”
However, Miller quickly corrected this stance while appearing on SiriusXM’s Jim Norton & Sam Roberts Show in October 2022, pointing out that the press had manipulated his confession and magnified it into a conflict between the actors. He noted that Reynolds “emailed me the next day… It was a misunderstanding, so I emailed him back and now it’s, like, fine.”
Miller shared what the ‘Green Lantern’ actor had emailed him, saying, “Hey, I just heard on the show that you were upset about this,’ before adding that they “just hashed it out really quickly.”
While the actors seemed to have sorted their issues out, there is no word yet on whether Miller will be making an appearance in future Deadpool movies.
