“There are so many questions people might ask you, but if you tell the truth, you already know the answers.”
Did you know the show is a remake of a South Korean Medical drama? It’s said that Daniel Dae Kim, the producer of Good Doctor (K-drama), wanted worldwide recognition. That’s why American versions were created. Their other motive was to have a breath of characters that could be explored in the long run.
Since 2015, the casting is being picked, and by the pilot release in September 2017, we got the perfect cast! However, now fans have been facing a dilemma even since the rumors started popping up. To be more specific, after the sixth season finale, which aired on May 1, 2023, changes in the cast have us nervous. So to make matters a little better and filter out the authentic news, we are here with the list of 5 Characters that we won’t see in The Good Doctor Season 7.
Some of these characters’ disappearances aren’t confirmed yet, so let’s see what we got.
Brandon Larracuente as Dr. Daniel Perez
We were introduced to this character in the sixth season, and we are proud to admit that we fell in love at first sight. He was a new resident who had an interest in Dr. Allen. His bond with Allen surely attracted the audience, but his charm was everything. His disclosure of being a former drug addict and his quick thinking to save the patient. Everything was perfect until he got hit by a car. Luckily he was saved all thanks to Jordan, but in the end, we saw him leaving for Texas to recover with the help of his family. Since it’s confirmed that he won’t be returning, he came in our list of 5 Characters that we won’t see in The Good Doctor Season 7.
Hill Harper as Dr. Marcus Andrews
Hill Harper is one of the cast members that have been with us since the beginning. We have watched him from being on the top to hitting rock bottom; however, that never stopped him. He got up and climbed the latter again. He might be an egoistic man, but his skills are exceptional. His goal has always been to be on top. That’s what we understood through his want for Dr. Glassman’s position. Despite everything, he gave Shaun a tough love rather than coddling him. Later in the sixth season, he was the President of San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital until he resigned from the position after his Instagram post in which he declared being busy with his campaign. He won’t be returning in the upcoming season.
Osvaldo Benavides as Dr. Mateo Rendon Osma
We first saw him in the fourth season for a few episodes, however, we got his return as a full-fledged cast member. Sadly we didn’t get that much time with him, and Audrey’s story was left in between. His return is also on fandom’s wishlist. However, his exit was seen as he had to travel to Guatemala for a critical surgical assignment. As much as we loved Mateo and Audrey, his disappearance from her is still unacceptable. No official statement has been made, but it seems unlikely for this character to return.
Richard Schiff as Dr. Aaron Glassman
One of the best characters of all time, Dr. Aaron Glassman, is a mentor and father figure to Dr. Shaun. Despite his lovable side, he’s an excellent mentor and a doctor. His health has been an issue from the start, ever since he recovered from cancer. However, in the sixth season, we saw his health depletion again, and later it got revealed that Glassman had a lesion on his brain. His mini-stroke made the audience doubt he’s among the 5 Characters that we won’t see in The Good Doctor Season 7.
Savannah Welch as Dr. Danni Powell
We met her in the sixth season, and soon enough, we got addicted. She’s a former US Navy Lieutenant who lost her right leg following a flight deck accident. She’s a maker of her own rules; that’s why when she saw Vince in pain. She took matters into her hands and performed an unauthorized surgery. Due to this action, Dr. Lim was forced to fire her. So we got that she’s the last one among our list of 5 Characters that we won’t see in The Good Doctor Season 7.
