Here is everything we know so far about Netflix’s All Of Us Are Dead Season 2.
All Of Us Are Dead Season 2 Renewal Status
We are delighted to inform our beloved readers that the South Korean zombie horror series, which is based on the Naver webtoon of the same name by Joo Dong-geun, which was published between 2009 and 2011, has been renewed for a second season, which was confirmed by Netflix last year on June 6, 2023, after it received positive reviews from critics, particularly for the world-building, production design, and cast’s performance.
Moreover, the series was watched over 474.26 million hours in its first 30 days on the service, due to which the early renewal was pretty evident to happen! While you wait for more updates, we urge the readers to take a look at the official renewal announcement as shared by the Netflix Geeked Twitter handle, quote, “IS LEE CHEONG-SAN ALIVE? Good thing All Of Us Are Dead is renewed for a second season so we can find out. #GeekedWeek” Take a look at the post below:

All Of Us Are Dead Season 2 Expected Release Date: Will it premiere in August 2023?
We are aware of how much the fans have been awaiting its premiere, but we hate to break this unfortunate update to our readers. The new season will not return anytime sooner or later this year. As we know, Netflix is almost halfway through its summer schedule, and the network has also started to tease the fall lineup, in which All of Us Are Dead Season 2 was not mentioned, which is a bit disappointing for the die-hard fans who have been anticipating its return for more than a year!
Sadly, it seems like filming for the second season hasn’t even begun. According to Teen Vogue’s interview with Park Ji-hu back in March 2023, it has been stated that All of Us Are Dead Season 2 has not even started filming yet, which is not a great sign for fans hoping to see its comeback sometime in 2023. With this update, there should be no doubt that production has been halted, and the 2023 Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike, along with the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, has also been a main factor in its delay.
Moreover, we would also like to highlight that many reports have also claimed that the shooting was 50% completed, which at the moment of writing seems to be just a pure assumption!

Hence, if we consider this timeline, then it seems ideal to speculate that the crew might be aiming to begin filming sometime later this year or even in early 2024, due to which the premiere date will be postponed further as post-production also takes months to complete. So, the most likely release window will be sometime around late 2024 or even in 2025, with the same premiere time slot as other shows on the streaming service, which is 12:00 a.m. (PT) or 3:00 a.m. (ET).
Unfortunately, the fans of the hit Korean zombie series, All of Us Are Dead will have to hold their breath a little longer as Season 2 will not be gracing our screens in August 2023.

All of Us Are Dead Season 2 Plot: What to expect?
The series is expected to expand on the basic premise, which is as follows: “A local high school is overrun with zombies as a result of a failed science experiment, and the trapped students struggle to survive. With no food or water and communication cut off by the government, they must use the school’s equipment to protect themselves in the midst of a battleground, or they will become infected.”
In addition to this, the second season is also expected to continue from the final episode of the first season, which revealed that the students arrive at an abandoned neighborhood after making their getaway. Some zombies are detected by Nam-ra. Later, the students make an attempt to flee, but Dae-su’s leg is hurt, so they must remain and fight the zombies. While defending his sister, Woo-jin is bitten, which causes Nam-ra to murder him.
During the escape, Nam-ra’s desire to eat her companions grows stronger, and she almost bites On-jo because of the voices in her head that are encouraging her to do so. Nam-ra abandons her pals and vanishes in the neighborhood because she is overcome with regret and wants to avoid hurting them. The military finally saves the remaining six student survivors, Su-hyeok, On-jo, Dae-su, Hyo-ryung, Mi-jin, and Ha-ri, when they find an abandoned railway. Moreover, the government lifted martial law in Hyosan four months later, but it kept the locals under quarantine.
The six kids sneak back to the ruins of their school after leaving the camp. They run into Nam-ra, who appears to be in good health despite still being a half-zombie. As she leaps from the rooftop, leaving the others to stare after her, Nam-ra adds that there are a few other students like her who fled from the school and that she will return. Government representatives take Byeong-chan’s son and wife’s bodies to a different place in a scene towards the middle of the credits.
According to recent reports, it appears like the show’s director wants to concentrate more on the zombies anyway, which is exactly what the fans expect to see in the new season! Before All of Us Are Dead was renewed for a second season back on June 6, 2022, director Lee Jae-kyoo mentioned in an interview with The Korea Herald that he wanted to create a second season of this zombie series. Take a look at the quote below to understand what the director explained:
“Many directions, settings, and scenes were intentionally produced to expand the story into an additional season, including the introduction of the new race of zombies – immune and immortal,” director Lee Jae-kyoo told The Korean Herald. Further adding, “If the first season can be seen as having presented humanity’s survival, the next season can talk about the survival of the zombies. I hope to present viewers with another season.”
All of Us Are Dead Season 2 Cast: Who will and will not reprise their roles?
There has been no confirmation, but we are certain that the six remaining students will reprise their roles in the second season, which are as follows:
Park Ji-hu as Nam On-jo, Kim Bo-yoon as Seo Hyo-ryung, Im Jae-hyuk as Yang Dae-su, Yoon Chan-young as Lee Cheong-san, Ha Seung-ri as Jang Ha-ri, Lee Eun-saem as Park Mi-jin, Lemon as Lee Su-hyeok. Cho Yi-hyun, who played Choi Nam-ra, might also return. We can also expect new additions in the cast of the second season, which will be revealed later.
Fans are also guessing as to whether Cheong-san (Yoon Chan-young) somehow managed to escape the bombing and will now appear in the second season because if Cheong-san survived the blast, then the antagonist from All of Us Are Dead Season 1! Yes, you guessed it right: Gwi-nam (Yoo In-soo) will most likely also be able to do the same, so he may possibly show up in the second season. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens, as anything can change!
On the other hand, it sadly looks like there are some cast members who won’t return in the second season, which might include Yoo In-soo as Yoon Gwi-nam, Lee Yoo-mi as Lee Na-yeon, Kim Byung-chul as Lee Byeong-chan, Lee Kyu-hyung as Song Jae-ik, and Jeon Bae-soo as Nam So-ju. Of course! This will be confirmed later once the production concludes, as it is subject to conjecture. Moreover, Lee JQ and Kim Nam-su are the creators and directors; Lee JQ is the showrunner, and Chun Sung-il is the writer.
Lastly, Lee Jae-gyu also revealed the plans for season 2 could have a lot of certain character resurrections. After season one’s writing, the director Lee JQ told once about season two, quoting, “The story itself was set with season 2 in mind, so if season 2 comes out, it might be a little more interesting and expanded story.” He also left a hint about the content of Season 2, saying, “If Season 1 was a survival period for humans, there is a sense of humor, but Season 2 feels like it will be a survival period for zombies.”
All of Us Are Dead Season 2 Episodes: Where to stream?
The upcoming second season is expected to have a total of 12 episodes with an average runtime of 53 to 72 minutes, just like the first season, which will drop all at once, so you can binge away! On the other hand, the episode titles and synopsis of the majority of the episodes have not been released yet. So, we would advise fans to be patient while waiting for these updates, which will be issued later.
All of Us Are Dead Season 2 will be available exclusively on Netflix along with the first season, with other series of the same genre also accessible on the streaming platform with a range of membership options. The basic membership starts at $9.99/month, and the standard membership starts at $15.49/month, depending on the package you choose, which is available at no additional cost with any of their services.
All of Us Are Dead Season 2 Official Trailer: Is it available?
There is still a lot of time left for the official trailer to be released, as the pre-production stage is still underway, and no new teaser can be published this early on, especially when the ongoing writer and actors strike has also put many shows on a halt on Netflix. For the time being, we request that the readers check out the 2:34-minute official trailer of the first season, which was released by the network back on January 28, 2022, and showcases, “A high school becomes ground zero for a zombie virus outbreak. Trapped students must fight their way out — or turn into one of the rabid infected.”
The review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes reported an approval rating of 87% based on 23 reviews, with an average rating of 6.90/10. The site’s critical consensus reads, “While All of Us Are Dead loses some of its bite with an overlong season, its emotional grounding puts plenty of meat on the bone.” Metacritic gave it a weighted average score of 67 out of 100 based on reviews from 5 critics, indicating “generally favorable reviews.” In the meantime, take a look at the official trailer of All of Us Are Dead Season 1 below:
