Is Along for the Ride 2 happening? Read on to find out.
For most of us, adolescence is an experience of a lifetime. The most cherished memories of our lives are related to this phase and it allows us to be the most authentic version of ourselves. And Along for the Ride is a beautiful movie that shows the complexities one has to go through in order to become the best version of themselves.
Along for the Ride is a romantic drama film that is based on the novel of the same name by Sarah Dessen. The movie revolves around a perfectionist teenage girl who doesn’t have a social life and has got a college scholarship, and admits she was “It’s still a memory worth having, even if it’s not exactly what you imagined.” But, later she wonders if she’ll ever get to experience what her heart truly wants.
She wants to change and elects to spend her final summer before college at her father’s house in Colby. There, she meets a mysterious boy, Elim who is a biker and a fellow insomniac who spots her at 2 am reading on the pier. They soon form a friendship that slowly turns into something more as they come together to fulfill Auden’s list of teenage experiences.
Sofia Alvarez makes her directorial debut with this film and she did a great job. The movie is like a breath of fresh summer air, with its realistic plot, convincing characters, and a teenage romance tale. Part 1 premiered on May 6, 2022, but it doesn’t mean that fans are not looking up information related to a second part of the movie. If you are also looking for the same, we’ve got you covered!
Here’s everything you need to know about Along for the Ride 2.

Will there be a sequel to Along for the Ride?
There’s no information related to Part 2 yet. Are we surprised? No, as Part 1 premiered just yesterday, we don’t expect the makers to announce the sequel this early. However, if we were to predict, the movie may have a sequel as there are plenty of stories left to be told about the couple in the next movie. The sequel can talk about the relationship between Auden and Eli, their friends, and Auden’s family.
Netflix has planned other movies as well for Dessen’s books and we don’t think that it’ll make the sequel for this film before finishing their production. But if the movie is extremely popular and a massive hit among fans, we can expect the sequel to arrive soon.

Along for the Ride 2: What will be the story?
At the end of the film, Auden shares her secret that she cannot ride a bike and Eli tells her the secret that his best friend died when they were hit by a drunk driver heading home from a competition. He tries to help her ride her bike but she becomes mad at him as she is going through hurt feelings from her parent’s divorce.
This leads to a fight between them and they make up when Auden watches him in a bike competition for the first time. They apologize and Eli finally tells her, crying how much he misses his best friend, starting the closure process. In the final scenes, Eli waits for Auden in a tux in front of her home as he wants to give her the prom night she never went to.

She complains about not having a dress to wear, to which Eli replies, “Right, it’s a shame you didn’t bring that dress to Colby with you,” She smiles and comes out after 10 minutes fully ready, which is not possible, to be honest, but okay. Eli arranges the prom night and it brings them closer as a couple.
After that, he leaves for Barcelona to start his bike shop and Auden joins university to pursue higher education. In the sequel, we expect to see how the couple tries to deal with the complexities of a long-distance relationship, and are there any new surprises awaiting them to create obstacles in their happily ever after? Well, we just have to wait to find out in Along for the Ride 2, if at all it happens.
