Will Jamie and Eddie be separated?
According to the TV Line, “It was brought up when Jamie and Eddie got married, that though there is no law on the books, it is against the rule of custom for spouses to work together in a precinct,” Wade reminded. “But they have a new commanding officer this season (Stephanie Kurtzuba’s Sgt. McNichols), who as soon as she sees them says, ‘One of you is going to transfer by the end of the day.'”
Sgt. McNichols actually “finds another way” to solve the problem, “which is to elevate Jamie to Field Information Officer for that precinct,” Wade previewed. “That means he’s not in uniform and he’s not at the morning rollout and all that stuff, but it’s a very real job at the NYPD.”
Simply said, it is the Field Information Officer’s job to “take the usual perp who is brought in for whatever he’s brought in for” and assess his potential value as a confidential informant before he’s processed out to the DA, Wade explained. “If he looks like a likely ‘treasure chest,’ the Field Information Officer sits them down and says, ‘I think we can probably cut you a break on this, depending on what you can give us….’
Jack Boyle’s return to the show
Speaking to TV Insider on the subject, Bridget Moynahan had the following to say regarding Jack’s return to the show and what he could have to offer, “He offers to introduce her to somebody with political and financial support. That opens the door to conversations that bring them closer, but now that she’s running for office, I think she’s waiting. Your private life is exposed no matter what it is.”
A major job change for Jamie Reagan
Viewers will see a significant employment transition for Jamie Reagan. Speaking to TVLine on that subject, here is some of what showrunner and executive producer Kevin Wade stated, “It was brought up when Jamie and Eddie (played by Will Estes and Vanessa Ray) got married, that though there is no law on the books, is it is against the rule of custom for spouses to work together in a precinct … But they have a new commanding officer this season (Sgt. McNichols), who as soon as she sees them says, ‘One of you is going to transfer by the end of the day.'”
Det. Anthony Abetemarco is back
Steve Schirripa confirmed the news that Anthony is not going anywhere as he will be back for the new season of Blue Bloods. He shared some BTS pictures from the set with his followers and captioned them, captioned, “Sweltering temps for the first week of filming! Great to be back @bluebloods_cbs! #season13”
Moreover, Anthony’s appearance in these photographs indicates that there will most likely be some crossover between Erin and Danny’s stories in the premiere.
