Who is Stella Kidd?

Stella Kidd played by Miranda Rae Mayo has been a fan favorite since her debut in Season 4. She is a Lieutenant with the Chicago Fire Department and the officer in charge of Truck 81, based out of Firehouse 51. She’s since become a series regular, a lieutenant, and, most recently, Kelly Severide’s wife. Her perseverance was rewarded in Season 10 Episode 14 “An Officer With Grit,” with the news that she made the cut.

“I’m just seeing her develop into this leader by way of encouragement,” Mayo told Looper. It has really been a lot of fun to play with and to act out. Season 10 also marked a huge personal milestone for Stella-her wedding to Severide! These two have been going strong for a while and watching them make things official at the end of the season was definitely a full-circle moment. And it felt so right, that she asked Chief Wallace to walk her down the aisle.

As mentioned by One Chicago Center, Guilt is something new for Kidd to deal with. She re-visited the Girls on Fire program, which she had spearheaded in the previous episode “Angry Is Easier,” and began to wonder whether she was doing something positive for the women who joined the program or putting their lives in danger.

In the seventh episode of Chicago Fire Season 11, “Angry Is Easier,” the viewers got to see that Herrmann is tasked with fulfilling a man’s dying wish; Kidd reflects on her Girls on Fire program after one of her students graduates from the Fire Academy; a heckler harasses Firehouse 51. Kidd pays a visit to the Girls on Fire group as they conduct a drill. Macy, the first Girls on Fire student to graduate from the Fire Academy, happens to be the woman running the drill.

Kidd is taken aback by this realization and understandably proud of herself, but things take a turn for the worse when she is approached by Macy’s mother. Macy’s mother tells Kidd that she is concerned for her daughter’s safety and that if she dies while risking her life on the job, it will be Kidd’s fault. This knocks Kidd off her feet, and it’s clear that she’s forced to reconsider her actions.

Whether she’s been a positive influence. Fortunately, Severide (Taylor Kinney) is able to calm Kidd down before she makes any rash decisions, such as quitting or withdrawing from the Girls on Fire program. He tells Kidd that she will not be held accountable for what happens to her students and that she should focus on being a good role model.
