“A Hero’s Not Somebody Who’s Unafraid, It’s The Guy Who’s Scared And Does What’s Right Anyway.”
If you are a soccer fan, you know the confusion arose at the start of the Chicago Fire series! Not a fan? Allow us to ease your curiosity (mostly to the non-soccer fans). Chicago Fire first aired in 2012, and several took its title as the Chicago Fire Soccer Club, which was very popular at that time.
The name similarity was the main issue. However, the soccer players were more than willing to share the name. The cast members were often asked questions related to soccer. Eventually, the soccer club changed its name to Chicago Fire FC, and the confusion was also diminished. This fun fact was enough to make the series memorable while its plotline and cast had our full attention.
Given the fact that the crew is planning Chicago Fire Season 12 and fans are still craving the series despite the spin-offs, it says a lot about the popularity of the series. So, let’s keep talking about the show with some soccer PJs!
Who’ll return in Chicago Fire Season 12?
Before we start digging into all the cast members’ names who’ll return in the upcoming season, let’s take a moment to appreciate the crew who made the series possible! All thanks to Derek Haas and Michael Brandt for creating the series and to NBC for being its trustworthy network since the beginning. Till now, we look up to NBC’s website or official social media accounts for any updates. Now, let’s predict who’ll return in Chicago Fire Season 12. Our original cast members are:
- Taylor Kinney as Lieutenant Kelly Severide
- Kara Killmer as Paramedic Sylvie Brett
- David Eigenberg as Lieutenant Christopher Herrmann
- Joe Miñoso as Firefighter Joe Cruz
- Christian Stolte as Firefighter Randy “Mouch” McHolland
- Miranda Rae Mayo as Lieutenant Stella Kidd
- Alberto Rosende as Firefighter Blake Gallo
- Daniel Kyri as Firefighter Darren Ritter
- Hanako Greensmith as Paramedic Violet Mikami
- Eamonn Walker as Deputy District Chief Wallace Boden
These are some of the main cast we always expect to return. However, with some changes in the last season, the fandom is worrying if they’ll return or not. The main concern is for Taylor Kinney, who gave life to Kelly’s character. Since his sudden departure from last season, which the writers covered up as last minute, once-in-a-lifetime OFI training camp. His sudden departure was titled as temporary by NBC and Wolf Entertainment. His return in Chicago Fire Season 12 is still in doubt, considering he took the leave for personal reasons. Even if he gives Kelly’s character one more chance in the twelfth season, we believe it’ll only be as a recurring or guest member.
As for Jesse Spencer, he’ll be returning in the upcoming season. He even expressed his excitement to an NBC insider, “The storyline does allude to Casey sort of eyeing whether he could move back to 51. Can he potentially in the future rekindle his relationship with Brett and start that fire again? We’re gonna have to see. Casey’s looking at it, it’s a potential thing, but we just don’t know right now. We’ll leave that to the future. We’ll throw it to the gods and see what they say.”
When can we expect Chicago Fire Season 12 to air?
It’s no surprise that the season, which was set to air in fall 2023, has been postponed to 2024 until further notice. This happened due to the current strikes like WGA and SAG-AFTRA, which have shaken up the whole Hollywood entertainment industry and taken all the attention of production houses. Until this issue gets settled and writers and actors are given their fair share. Several series will be postponed, not only Chicago Fire Season 12. The production is put on hold, so we can’t expect the series to air anything soon.
