Here is everything we know so far about Netflix’s Cobra Kai Season 6.
Cobra Kai Season 6 Release Date: When will it premiere on Netflix?
The series was renewed for a sixth and final season earlier this year. Since then, no official confirmation about the exact release date has been made by the network!
It is speculated that filming might take a few months, which puts the release of the sixth season somewhere next year, which is quite ideal considering the ongoing writer’s strike, which isn’t stopping anytime soon, along with the possibility that an actor’s strike could have caused delays in the production anyway.
The delays in the completion of scripts were also confirmed, as writing for the sixth season soon began after the renewal was announced. Later, during the Atlanta Comic Con, Ralph Macchio divulged that principal photography would commence in late spring, stating that the month of May is the “pencil plan” to get started.
But, sadly, the writing sessions for the season were put on indefinite hold starting May 2, 2023, as a result of the Writers Guild of America strike.
It has been reported that the sessions will resume once the WGA makes a fair deal with the AMPTP. As a result, it’s pretty much clear that no new updates will be provided in the month of July 2023! Until there is any new confirmation about the series’ status, the fans will have to wait for more updates! In the meantime, check out the renewal announcement as shared among followers on the show’s official Twitter handle, quoting, “Let me ask you: Do you have one more fight left in you? The sixth and final season of Cobra Kai is coming soon to Netflix.”

Cobra Kai Season 6 Plot: What to expect from the final season?
As we know, the sixth and final season has not been canceled because of the strike. Hence, not much has been revealed about the potential plotlines of the season, which isn’t surprising at all, but according to co-creator Jon Hurwitz, the sixth and final season will be set roughly a year after the Season 2 finale, which would be Fall 2019. So, the overall conclusion of the story will be exciting to witness after all these amazing seasons, which first started in 2018!
This is the final season of the beloved martial arts comedy-drama television series is a sequel to the original The Karate Kid films by Robert Mark Kamen. We are certain that the creators of this beloved series will definitely go out of their way to make a satisfactory conclusion, as they have chosen to end Cobra Kai on their terms by telling Netflix they wouldn’t be returning for another season, despite Netflix being in talks with the creators and cast to make a seventh season.

Moreover, executive producers Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg confirm in an open letter to fans that they should “strap in for the BIGGEST SEASON OF COBRA KAI YET.” They hope that the news today serves as a “celebration of all that’s come, as well as all that’s still left to be told.” The full letter from the executive producers is below, quoting, “A letter to you, the greatest fans in the world, from the showrunners of Cobra Kai.”
Lastly, as per Netflix Tudum, Heald, Hurwitz, and Schlossberg also invoked the journey of Daniel LaRusso from when he first arrived in the Valley in 1984 to the present day, where he’s helped influence a new generation of underdog heroes, formed unlikely alliances and honored the lessons of his sensei in a dojo of his own. This is the conclusion to the Cobra Kai journey that the executive producers wanted to offer him and Johnny Lawrence (Zabka) — and everyone else in the universe.
