The third season, titled “Kimetsu no Yaiba: Swordsmith Village Arc,” will cover the “Swordsmith Village” arc and is now confirmed to be premiering in April 2023! To say the least, it is clear that this is the year of the Demon Slayer!

We’d like to point out that the season’s exact release date, as well as Netflix’s official release date, have yet to be confirmed. As previously announced, Demon Slayer Season 2 will premiere on Netflix on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 2:00 a.m. (PT) or 3:00 a.m. (ET), with each new episode dropping on the same day, just like the other anime series on the streaming platform. So, interested viewers can also enable notifications to receive updates on when it premieres on Netflix. As a result, it is clear that the new season will not be coming for some time on the streaming platform.

However, if we must speculate, the third season could be available on Netflix sometime in 2024, as the previous season had a similar year gap. We’ll just have to wait and see when these details will be confirmed. On the other hand, the official Twitter handle of the show also confirmed the show among its followers, quoting, “#NEWS Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Swordsmith Village – World Tour coming in 2023 with premiere event in Los Angeles on February 18th and theatrical release in the U.S. and Canada on March 3rd!” Take a look at the post below:

It has been revealed that the third season’s story will revolve around the Swordsmith Village arc, which is the manga’s ninth arc. In terms of plot, we know that Season 3 will begin immediately following the final battle between the Demon Slayer Corps and Upper Moon 6 Gyutaro and Daki. As a result, the next episode of the anime will cover chapters 100 through 127 of Koyoharu Gotouge’s manga, which serves as the basis for the TV series. In the manga, the Swordsmith Village arc follows immediately after the Entertainment District arc, which was covered in Demon Slayer Season 2.

According to Viz Media, Season 3 of the anime will begin with Manga volume 12, “For the first time in over 100 years, the upper ranks of Muzan Kibutsuji’s Twelve Kizuki are not full. Angered, Muzan dispatches the survivors on another mission. Elsewhere, Tanjiro journeys to a village of swordsmiths and have to explain how his sword was so badly damaged to Haganezuka, the smith who made it. While Tanjiro waits for his sword to be repaired, enemies close in…”

The cast members of the series who will reprise their roles in the new season, according to the Japanese assemblage are stated as follows: Natsuki Hanae as Tanjiro Kamado, Akari Kitō as Nezuko Kamado, Hiro Shimono as Zenitsu Agatsuma, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Inosuke Hashibira, Katsuyuki Konishi as Tengen Uzui, Miyuki Sawashiro as Daki, Atsumi Tanezaki as Hinatsuru, Shizuka Ishigami as Makio, Nao Toyama as Suma, Ryōta Ōsaka as Gyutaro, Satoshi Hino as Kyojuro Rengoku, Daisuke Hirakawa as Enmu, Akira Ishida as Akaza, and Junya Enoki as Senjuro Rengoku.

The two major additions will be Mist Hashira, Muichiro Tokito, and the Love Hashira, Mitsuri Kanroji, who were both first introduced in episode 21 of season one. It goes without saying that the series may still include new heroes and demons which may be released later.

The third season of Demon Slayer, along with the prior two seasons, is also available to watch on Funimation and Crunchyroll. Additionally, you can also watch Kimetsu no Yaiba on Hulu Plus and Netflix. It is also available to stream by renting or purchasing on Amazon Instant Video, iTunes, Google Play, and Vudu, based on the location of the viewer and their membership preferences. The season will begin with a one-hour special episode rather than the standard 22-minute runtime. This season is speculated to have 12 episodes, give or take a few. On the other hand, the respective titles and synopsis of the upcoming episodes have not been confirmed by the network, which will be disclosed in the coming weeks.

The official trailer of 2:48 minutes was released earlier on April 16, 2022, by the network, which showcases that the television series is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotouge. The Demon Slayer Swordsmith Village arc teaser trailer depicted a timeline summary of events, dividing them into three separate scrolls. The first scroll’s edges were decided to be painted the same shade as Tanjiro’s haori, indicating that the first season of the anime concentrated on Tanjiro’s beginnings, his journey to becoming a demon-slayer, and the epiphany of his true potential through the first performance of Hinokami Kagura.
