When will Emily in Paris season 3 be released on Netflix?
Save the date mon amies, Emily in Paris season 3 is all set to release on December 21, 2022. Netflix officially confirmed the date during Netflix’s TUDUM fan event along with releasing a teaser of the new season. In the teaser, we find Emily saying:
“This is the hardest decision that I’ve ever had to make,” regarding choosing between Alfie and Gabriel.
At one point, this conflict must have been so overwhelming for Emily that she decided to cut her bangs in the bathroom, as you can see in the video. Nothing can be more explicit than this to show that everything is not fine!
But Emily insists that she’s okay, as she tells Gabriel, “Sometimes people cut bangs and everything’s fine!”

What is the plot of Emily in Paris season 3?
Here’s the official synopsis of Emily in Paris season 3:
“One year after moving from Chicago to Paris for her dream job, Emily finds herself at a crucial crossroads in every aspect of her life. Faced with two very different paths, Emily will have to decide exactly where her loyalties lie – at work and in her romantic life – and what those decisions mean for her future in France, all while continuing to immerse herself in the adventures and surprising twists and turns that life in Paris provides.”
However, this synopsis is not enough for the fans to know whether Emily will choose to stay in Paris or not. Turns out, Collins also doesn’t. In an interview with ELLE on December 23rd, 2021, Collins said, “I’m dying to know what that decision is, ‘cause I don’t know.”
She said that even Darren Star, the showrunner of Emily in Paris, hadn’t even told her whether Emily will be taking up the job with Sylvie or going back to States and to her old boss, Madeline. She said, “No, no, no, like, genuinely I’m as confused as Emily was.”
In order to get more insight, ELLE interviewed Star. He said, “I have a very strong idea [of what Emily chooses], and I think the thing is, there’s no right choice.”
He further added, “There’s no choice that’s gonna make everything better and please everybody. And I think Emily also is…a bit of a people pleaser, and she’s gonna make a decision that’s gonna make some people unhappy. And she’s gonna have to deal with that also next season.”
On the romantic front, Emily seems to be confused between Gabriel and Alfie, whose role is reprised by the very handsome Lucien Laviscount. She shares a deeper connection with both. On a more personal level, I think she will choose Gabriel over Alfie considering the ups and downs that Emily has gone through with Gabriel and how after everything, they both end up tete-a-tete with each other. However, if Emily chooses Gabriel, she might not resort to the ‘good friend’ trope since he was Camille’s ex.
But what the showrunner has to say about Emily’s conundrum?
In conversation with ELLE, Darren Star considers Emily’s romantic mishaps, saying, “She does have very strong feelings for Gabriel…That’s a question she’s going to have to confront, how can she manage her relationship issues with her work issues, both of which, by the end of season 2, is hanging in the balance.”
Talking about Laviscount, he mentioned, “I love Alfie, personally. I wouldn’t write Alfie off, and I don’t think Emily should, either. London’s not far from Paris.”
