After an entire season of will-they-won’t-they inner dialogue with ourselves and that pivotal cliffhanger,
will Emily and Gabriel finally get together?
Only Season 4 will tell! Keep reading to find out more.
The whiff of fresh pleats, twinkling towers, espressos, amuse-bunches, and a city that never sleeps. Emily is back in Paris for a fourth season! A binge-watching guilty pleasure, Emily and Paris has ticked off all the boxes and has secured itself as one of the top Netflix series of all time.
The ethereal romance, the sparkly attire, and the fresh croissants made us fall in love with Paris through the lens of Emily Cooper, a young American woman who finds herself navigating the dazzling streets of Paris working as a marketing executive in the top firm in Paris. Three Seasons and several drama-filled heartbreaks and reconciliations later, we are anticipating the return of Emily for a Fourth Season!
However, ever since its double-season renewal announcement in January 2022, there have seldom been some solid updates on its return to Netflix. Then, when you add the current strikes into the mix, things tend to get weary and reach an impasse of uncertainty.
Emily in Paris Season 3 graced our screens in December 2022. We expected Emily In Paris Season 4 production to begin by mid-2023 for the series to air in its usual month of December. However, as you must already know, a WGA strike broke out in May, wherein the writers stopped writing scripts for several shows.
If this wasn’t bad enough, the artists union of SAG AFTRA also joined hands with WGA in the form of a double strike once their contract with AMTP expired on midnight of 12th July 2023. This undoubtedly created a cataclysmic domino effect wherein writings for the series stopped, actors refused to come to set, and ultimately, production for several promised fall series went into hiatus.
We are currently entering the fourth month of this joint strike, and any indications of an agreement or resolution of some sort seem bleak. Keep reading as we answer your most wanted questions relating to Emily in Paris Season 4, including the elephant in the room: Will Emily and Gabriel finally get their fairytale ending?
Emily in Paris Season 4 Spoilers: Will Emily And Gabriel Finally Get Together and Other Storylines
Given the premise of the past seasons, here are a few theories that only Season 4 will be able to prove once it reaches us:
Well, we had a fairly good idea about what was to unfold in the next season. However, the cast recently attended an event with Netflix TUDUM, and Lily Collins teased quite a few endeavors that Emily in Paris Season 4 will embark upon. She began by prompting a few questions that we have been mirroring in our heads for months now, “Is Alfie still heartbroken?”, “Will Gabriel get his Michelin star?”, “Will Mindy and the band go to Eurovision?”, “Will Sylvie’s rekindled love last?” and the question on all of our minds: “Will Emily and Gabriel finally get together?” Let’s break it down.
A Gabriel-Emily Fairytale Ending?
Let’s get right to it and address the elephant in the room. Season 1 introduced us to this dynamic couple and their electrifying chemistry even though they happened to be committed to other people, Gabriel being in a long-term relationship with Camille and Emily with a boy from Chicago. While things between the Chicago lovers don’t seem to blossom in a long-term relationship, Gabriel, weary of his relationship with Camille, cannot seem to hide his budding feelings for Emily.
Three seasons and serious relationships, one steamy night, and lots and lots of intimate kisses later, we find ourselves in another dilemma at the end of Season 3. Camille cuts her wedding short with Gabriel and pressurizes him into admitting his feelings for Emily, who was seated beside her boyfriend Alfie during the wedding. Alfie walked away from Emily, saying he did not want to be her second choice. Gabriel and Emily sat side by side and admitted that they always had feelings for each other, and they never went away.
Finally, Gabriel dropped a cliffhanging bomb on us, saying Camille was pregnant! While we may definitely see a steamy montage of Emily and Gabriel rekindling their lost time and love now that their feelings are out in the open, it will not be an easy ride ahead. There is a baby in the equation, and Emily and Gabriel’s careers also need great care and attention, not to mention the awkwardness we might face between the four if they ever come together.
Will Gabriel get his Michelin Star?
The possibility of this looks ripe. A Michelin star is given to the best of the best chefs, and Gabriel’s cooking is savored by everyone who comes across it. By the end of Season 3, Gabriel renamed his restaurant L’Espirit de Gigi, named after his beloved grandmother from Normandy.
We watched as Luc’s ex-girlfriend Marianne (a Michelin star-giver) said.
“The life of Chef Gabriel is about to change. This restaurant is headed for a Michelin star.”
So, the answer to this seems pretty positive. Along with his excitement about taking on the paternal role next season and his far-reaching ambitions to be a Michelin star chef, we doubt that his and Emily’s relationship will find any solid ground now that their feelings are out in the open.
Will Mindy and the band go to Eurovision?
This will most likely happen given that Mindy (a.k.a Ashley Park) has stunned the people of Paris as well as us viewers with her magical voice. Especially in the song ‘ Mon Soleil.’ We can’t wait to hear more from Mindy and go to Eurovision with her. The more important question is if the tour with Benoit will re-emerge their unresolved feelings for each other after their messy break-up. More importantly, will her new relationship suffer at the cost of an old flame?
Season 4 is likely to answer all these questions, so we just have to wait it out to hear Mindy’s magical voice and her goofy personality shining through our screens.
Will Sylvie’s rekindled love last?
The possibilities of this are countless, but we are positive it will last, given the erotic chemistry and understanding between her long-term husband and her. Her brief but serious dalliance with a younger photographer named Erik warmed our hearts, but we always knew something was missing between them, and it was not the considerable age gap.
Her husband, Laurant, understands her, nurtures her, and lets her shine, and their recently rekindled romance makes us believe that Sylvie has found the one. However, a brief occurrence at the end of Season 3 indicated that there may be tensions brewing between the couple, given the move he is willing to make to Paris and open his own nightclub with Nicola, Mindy’s boyfriend, who has considerable beef with Sylvie.
Creator and showrunner Darren Starr told TUDUM in relation to Emily and Gabriel, “These are two characters who are star-crossed lovers. They have a lot of passion for one another. They have things that are getting in their way, but, at the same time, I feel like every season, in a strange kind of way, their relationship deepens.” There are limitless possibilities, and we can’t wait to see what pans out.
Other than that, Collins also stated, “We have more fun, more fashion, and of course more drama in store,” she said. Further hinting, “While Emily’s heart will always remain true to Paris, her life takes some unexpected twists this season. Don’t be surprised to find her on a Roman holiday.” Looks like we are going to Rome in the next season. Things are about to get exciting! Check out the announcement here:
Emily in Paris Season 4 Release Date: When Is It Expected To Reach Us?
As mentioned earlier, the series was renewed for Season 3 and 4 simultaneously in January 2022. So it is true. Emily is not going anywhere as she will attempt to balance her work life and personal life, all while trying to fit into the ethereal City of Love. As of writing this piece, we have some updates regarding the release date.
With the strike dragging out to its third month now, filming for Emily in Paris Season 4 has not even taken shape. Forget about the production and post-production time, which, when culminated, takes about a year to complete. Also, we know the rumors about Seasons 3 and 4 being filmed simultaneously in the summer of 2023 turned out to be false. Ashley Park and Lily Collins attended the Met Gala 2023 in the summer, so it was impossible for them to be in two places at once.

This being said, we expected a December release so we could sip on hot cocoa and watch Emily take over Paris again. However, since the strike is invariably stretching to August, the chance of that happening is 0.0001%. So, it is safe to say that we expect Emily in Paris Season 4 to reach us by mid-2024 (this is keeping in tune with the time taken to produce and edit a high-production series like Emily in Paris). Also, this prediction can only come true if the issues of the strike are resolved by the month of October at the latest.
Additionally, according to The Wrap, showrunner Darren Starr skipped the FYC event in Paris. There is no speculation on why, but all we know is that he is a part of WGA! Plus, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu also spoke out regarding the delay due to the strike.

With respect to the timings of the release, it will follow the same pattern as that of the last 3 seasons, which is 2:00 AM (PT) or 3:00 AM (ET), and all the 10 episodes will be dropped together on Netflix, so you can binge watch to your heart’s content. Until more updates are underway, we urge you to hope for the best and maybe catch up with the last three seasons of Emily in Paris if you are missing her too much!
Emily in Paris Season 4 Cast: Who Will Reprise Their Roles?
There has been some speculation regarding the return of Alfie (played by Lucien), given his exit in the Season 3 finale named ‘Charade.’ Fans have been asking, “Will Alfie be in Season 4 of Emily in Paris?”But we know that Emily still has to meet him at work, so there is a good chance we will see him again.
- Emily (Lily Collins)
- Gabriel (Lucas Bravo)
- Camille (Camille Razat)
- Mindy (Ashley Park)
- Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu)
- Alfie (Lucien Laviscount)

Will there be any interesting cameos in Season 4? Any returning characters? Is Lucien’s return concrete? We don’t have the exact answers to the same yet, but we are sure that new updates regarding the cast will pop up as soon as production for Season 4 resumes after the dissipation of the strike. Stay tuned to this space as we will update you on any new prospects of new cast members or the retention of the old ones for the next Season.
