Emily in Paris Season 4: When will the new season premiere on Netflix?

Unfortunately, the new season will not be returning to the network anytime soon, so fans will have to wait a little longer, which could be several months!

If you recall, back in January 2022, Netflix renewed the show for a third and fourth season. Since then, there has been no news about the potential release date for the fourth season. On the other hand, back in September 2022, Variety reported that Emily of Paris season 4 was in production alongside season 3, which is expected to premiere sometime around December 2023, just like the prior seasons.

We know that all the prior three seasons have a similar one-year gap with the time slot of 2:00 a.m. (PT) or 3:00 a.m. (ET) with every new episode dropping on the same day. In order to receive updates on when the show premieres on Netflix, interested viewers can also enable notifications. Additionally, the official Twitter handle also confirmed the renewed of the show for two more seasons, quoting, “Emily in Paris has been renewed for Season 3 – and Season 4!” Take a look at the official announcement below:

Emily in Paris Season 4: What to expect?

According to Netflix Tudum, Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) will continue her journey of self-discovery in the City of Light. Both Seasons 3 and 4 will have to contend with the life-altering decision Emily makes for herself at the end of Season 2… that we’ve yet to hear. Last we left Miss Cooper, she was forced to reckon with a major decision: stay at the Gilbert Group, which had rather unceremoniously taken over the Savoir offices, and return home to Chicago after a year as she’d always planned – or join Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) at her new marketing firm, throwing caution to the wind and fully embracing the Parisian way of life by making a permanent home there.

The next two seasons also deal with the fallout of Camille (Camille Razat) moving in with Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), which Emily only learns after she finally confesses her feelings for him. This all begs yet another question: Will she break off her now-long-distance relationship with Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) after realizing her feelings for Gabriel? Or will she pursue Alfie now that Gabriel is back with Camille? The series will continue the plot from the final episode, “Charade,” of the third season in which the viewers got to see that, “In between undermining a colleague and helping Gabriel achieve his culinary dream, Emily attends a celebration in Champagne that takes a shocking turn.”

According to Deadline, Star stated, “I think that will be our theme for Season 4. Season 3 was about making choices. I think Season 4 is about how to balance business and toxic relationships because that’s going to be happening with a lot of our characters.” Additionally, moving on to Mindy and possibly the biggest question about Season 4. Will we see Eurovision on the show and will you film at the real event? To which Star replied, “I don’t know what the details of filming are but I think that our plan is to go to Eurovision next season, we’re all set up for it. And I think we’ve got a deserving song. I love that song, “Mon Soleil,” I think it would be definitely a worthy entry.”

Emily in Paris Season 4: Is it the final season?

According to Deadline, Star stated, “I definitely think the show has a life beyond next season. It’s not necessarily conceived as a final chapter. I think like every other show, it’s a rich ensemble. There’s no end in sight until everybody feels like it’s time to end. And I don’t think this show is limited by a number of seasons, I think it’s limited by everybody’s enthusiasm and excitement about doing it and telling stories about these characters because I think the world, especially after Season 3, the universe of the show is expanded because we have such a fantastic ensemble of characters and the show, it’s Emily In Paris, but I think it’s moved beyond just Emily in Paris, which is exciting.”

The main cast members of the series who are expected to reprise their roles are as follows Lily Collins as Emily Cooper, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Sylvie, Ashley Park as Mindy Chen, Lucas Bravo as Gabriel, Samuel Arnold as Julien, Bruno Gouery as Luc, Camille Razat as Camille, William Abadie as Antoine Lambert, Lucien Laviscount as Alfie. The recurring cast members are as follows Kate Walsh as Madeline, Jean-Christophe Bouvet as Pierre Cadault, Charles Martins as Mathieu Cadault, Céline Menville as Jacqueline, Kevin Dias as Benoît, and Jin Xuan Mao as Étienne.

Emily in Paris is executive produced by Star with Jax Media’s Tony Hernandez and Lilly Burns exec producing alongside Andrew Fleming. It is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, Darren Star Productions, and Jax Media with Collins, Raphaël Benoliel, Stephen Brown, Shihan Fey, and Jake Fuller as producers.

Emily in Paris Season 4: Top Spoilers

At the conclusion of the season, TV Guide got the chance to ask Emily in Paris creator Darren Star about what the Camille pregnancy cliffhanger means for the upcoming Season 4. He teased the following. Emily and Gabriel are not jumping into a relationship even though they are both technically single now.

“I don’t know that Gabriel is in the best place to start a relationship with Emily,” Star elaborated. “I am not sure that Emily wants a relationship with Gabriel under the circumstances.” Alfie isn’t completely out of the picture yet, making things really complicated in Season 4.

“Season 4 is going to be more about navigating complicated relationships; personal relationships and work relationships, and how they come into conflict with each other,” Star said. “Emily is still going to be working with Alfie, Gabriel, and Camille. Those work relationships are really fraught with emotional conflicts.” It’s not decided who Emily will settle down with. “There are more chapters before we get anywhere near that,” Star said when asked if he knows who Emily ends up with in the end. “I don’t have one strong idea at the moment of who she is going to be with.”

Emily in Paris Season 4: Is there any teaser or trailer?

No, the network has not yet released any teasers or trailers for the new season. We suggest you check out the latest season, which follows one year after Emily moved from Chicago to Paris for her dream job and finds herself at a crucial crossroads in every aspect of her life.

Faced with two very different paths, Emily will have to decide exactly where her loyalties lie – at work and in her romantic life – and what those decisions mean for her future in France, all while continuing to immerse herself in the adventures and surprising twists and turns that life in Paris provides.

For the third season, review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes reported an approval rating of 65% based on 17 reviews, with an average rating of 5.7/10. The website’s critics’ consensus reads, “Emily in Paris bubbly watch ability keeps threatening to go flat in a third season that seems content to spin its wheels, but this gallic travelogue will still be a pleasant enough journey for fans.” Metacritic gave the season a weighted average score of 54 out of 100 based on 10 reviews, indicating “mixed or average reviews.” Take a look at the official trailer below:
