Is the third season still happening or not? Here is everything we know so far about Ginny & Georgia Season 3.

Ever since the premiere of the second season almost two months ago, the fans have been anticipating if the network will renew the show for more seasons or not. If you’re one of them, then you’ve reached the right spot, as we’re here to clear up any confusion about the show’s current status and get straight to the point.

As of February 2023, the series has not been renewed for a third season!

This is unfortunate, but fans should understand that it has only been a few weeks since all of the episodes have aired, so it is far too early for a major streaming platform like Netflix to confirm these details as the evaluation and overall performance are being evaluated to determine whether or not it should be renewed for additional seasons or not.

One of the series showrunners, Sarah Lampert,, stated just before the second season’s release that no decision on a renewal had been made, quoting, “… no, there’s been no talks with Netflix about Season 3. They’re very regimented about how they do things. So there’s very much a strategy in place where I think we’ll drop it, and then we have to wait to see how it does and if we’re going to see Season 3 but I certainly hope we do because it’s going to be a wild ride.”

If the show is greenlit in the coming weeks, then we can expect the potential release date to be in late 2024 or early 2025, as the previous two chapters had a similar year gap. In addition to this, the episode’s time slot on the streaming platform may be around 12:00 a.m. (PT) or 3:00 a.m. (ET), just like other original shows. Interested viewers can also enable notifications to receive updates on when Ginny & Georgia Season 3 premieres on Netflix.

Take a look at some tweets from fans pleading for the renewal of Ginny & Georgia for Season 3 on Netflix:

Ginny & Georgia Season 3: What to expect?

There are no exact plotlines disclosed yet, but creator Sarah Lampert suggested that there are “a lot of really great possibilities,” for who will look after Ginny and Austin in the future!

When asked, “What are your thoughts about getting Season 3?” She stated, “I love surprising people, so I hope that that cliffhanger at the end of Episode 10 of Season 2 was a big surprise; that’s what we were going for. That being said, no, there’s been no talks with Netflix about Season 3. They’re very regimented about how they do things. So there’s very much a strategy in place where I think we’ll drop it, and then we have to wait to see how it does and if we’re going to see Season 3, but I certainly hope we do because it’s going to be a wild ride.”

After everything that has happened to Austin in the last season, she implied, “If we get to Season 3, we’ll have to dig deep into what he saw transpire in season two and the emotional ramifications of that.” Lampert also mentioned, “Anything could happen. I think that Cynthia in no means wanted Georgia to do that. I think that it would shock her to find out, and obviously, we weren’t with her, so we don’t know what happened off camera in between that scene that led to the arrest. But that would definitely be something that I think we would want to explore in Season 3.”

When questioned if Joe and Georgia have a future now that she is clearly aware of their history? She states, “Yes, she knows who he is. If you’re asking if there’s a romantic future for them, that would be the kind of thing you’d have to watch Season 3 to find out. What I’ll say about Joe is that I think he loves it very purely. In Season 2, what I loved seeing with his character was he really tried to establish firm boundaries with Georgia, because she’s not someone who has boundaries. She doesn’t have any boundaries with her children, she doesn’t have any boundaries at all, and she didn’t grow up with boundaries.”

The main cast members who are expected to reprise their roles include Brianne Howey as Georgia Miller, Antonia Gentry as Ginny Miller, Diesel La Torraca as Austin Miller, Jennifer Robertson as Ellen Baker, Felix Mallard as Marcus Baker, Sara Waisglass as Maxine Baker, Scott Porter as Mayor Paul Randolph, and Raymond Ablack as Joe. While you wait for more updates, we recommend streaming the second season to recall the events that have transpired so far. The last season showcased, “New relationships and challenges await Ginny and Georgia as they navigate life in Wellsbury—until secrets from the past threaten everything.”
