The new twisted mystery is here, and we are more than happy to be a part of the same! Daniel Craig is all set to reprise his role as detective Benoit Blanc in the sequel titled Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. The upcoming sequel follows the tremendous success of Knives Out, which was released way back in 2019. Talking about the original hit, it featured Chris Evans and Ana De Armas. Both of them play the prey and the predator of a family that has a bloody mystery revolving around it. Talking about the new film, it is also going to be a murder mystery like the previous one.

The film’s first look

As mentioned earlier, the first look of the film is already out, and all our eyes are on Daniel Craig, who will be reprising his role as the Detective once again. The new film has been directed by Rian Johnson and includes a lot of A-lister celebs lined up as the stellar star cast for the same. We are going to get a glimpse of some of the most eccentric personalities in the sequel of Knives Out, including Madelyn Cline, Jessica Henwick, Kathryn Hahn, Janelle Monae, Edward Norton, Leslie Odom Jr., Dave Bautista, and Kate Hudson.

The storyline

The film is reportedly set against the backdrop of Greece, where Detective Blanc has gone to unfold the layers of a new mystery involving a cast of multiple suspects. Now, talking about the film’s unique title, it is revealed by the director that the same is based on a popular 1968 Beatles song. He further said, “I’m always fishing for something fun that Blanc can grab onto as an overwrought metaphor that he can beat to death.” He further added, “This is all in plain sight from the very start. So, the idea of glass came to me, something that’s clear,” as published in the ET.

Rian Johnson also said, “I literally got out my iPhone and searched my music library with the word ‘glass.’ There’s got to be some good glass songs. I was like, “Oh, is it a glass fortress? Is it a glass castle? Is it a glass man?” The first thing that came up, because I’m a huge Beatles fan, is ‘Glass Onion.’” For the unversed, the Knives Out sequel is going to be released on Netflix on December 23, 2022.
