“Dear God. It’s been a while. I don’t really remember how this works. But hopefully, you still forgive. I’m hoping you can make me a
better man…”
If you are into some twisted investigations and lots of dramatics, this show is for you. Hopefully, you all are aware the show is based on The Grantchester Mysteries, written by James Runcie. If you weren’t aware… You are now! There could be several reasons why the show has been loved since 2014. While I would have gone for the amazing cast, however more technically, it’s the ongoing storyline. It’s a combination of several short stories in which the main cast leads, like Supernatural!
The show has made a name for itself in such a manner that now fans are asking about Grantchester Season 9 when the eighth season is still airing! However, the question isn’t all about the premium date of the ninth season or the plotline. It specifically revolves around Tom Brittney’s appearance in the show.
As much as we would like to attend the inquiries, we are here to give all the info regarding Will Davenport, the Reverend of Cambridgeshire village of Grantchester. Now, let’s roll on to learn all about it!
Is Grantchester Season 9 Tom Brittney’s last season?
Before we start digging further, let’s take a moment to appreciate the crew who made the series possible. All thanks to Daisy Coulam for developing the series and James Runcie’s novel, which is adapted into this TV series. Now getting back to the main issue. There are several inquiries regarding Tom Brittney’s last appearance in the upcoming season.
Tom Brittney has successfully created an icon as Will Davenport from the fourth season. He took the place of Reverend Sidney Chambers and created a special place in our hearts. With a rebellious spirit and love of motorcycles, he filled the shows of Sidney as the priest and part-time sleuth assisting DI Geordie Keating. We have enjoyed the duo from the beginning, and now they have finally embraced themselves as a father and son bond, except that Will is the husband of Geordie’s Niece in law, Bonnie.
Grantchester Season 9 is meant to give another twist to Will’s life when he is charged with reckless driving. However, his exit is being officially announced. Yes, folks, Tom Brittney will bid his farewell after the ninth season, and his replacement is Rishi Nair, who’ll play the role of New Vicar. Before we begin with the upcoming character, let’s hear what Tom has to say about his exit,” I’ve had the most incredible time playing Will Davenport for the last five years. I got to solve crimes with my best friend and work with the best cast and crew I could ever ask for. I’ll miss it more than anything. But it’s time for the baton to be passed, as it once was to me, and I’m so excited for Rishi to join the Grantchester family.”
So this is final that Tom Brittney exists after Grantchester Season 9 since he has decided to move onto a new role after spending the last five years as Will Davenport. If the show’s history repeats itself, we’ll see Tom and Rishi in one frame before Rishi takes on while Tom says goodbye. Even the production for the ninth season has begun, and in the recent Instagram post, we can see Rishi and Robson sharing the frame with scripts in their hand.
