Since the last episode aired on May 22, 2023, we understand it’s been months, and we have some withdrawal symptoms. Luckily, Brian Dietzen took pity on us and gave us a hint. His vacation was a hit, but so was his caption! His caption hinted about returning to work since his current work includes starring in NCIS as Dr. Jimmy Palmer. In certain words, his caption ended with, “Now back to work… eventually? Till then, I’ll be on the picket lines. Hope your summer is going great!”
We were all blinded by the beauty of Greece for a few seconds, but we got hold of ourselves and focused on the more important thing, which was Dr. Jimmy Palmer indicating working again. If this is correct, we can hope for the next season to air in Winter 2023. However, with every good news, there’s always news that dumps reality over your shoulder. In our case, it would be the current Writers’ and Actors’ strike going on in the Hollywood entertainment industry.
This is not the first time that NCIS has seen some sort of schedule change due to a work stoppage, as the writers’ strike during the 2007-08 season also had a seismic impact. We certainly don’t think that we are going to get 22-24 episodes this time around, and we may be fortunate to get something in the range of 13 at this point. Although we are aware, the cast and crew are eager to get back on track just like us so we do hope the strikes find some common ground to settle the matter.
