Tim Miller also stated, “We definitely wanted to make sure that “Three Robots” came back, it was one of our favorites and one of the fan favorites.”
“Three Robots” was inspired by a short fiction by author John Scalzi, a frequent collaborator of Miller’s. “John Scalzi is my go-to guy. He is a genius and a super nice guy and very into the show. I hang out with him even when we don’t have any show business to do,” Miller explained.

Will there be Love, Death + Robots Volume 4?
Netflix has yet to respond to speculations that the fourth season of Love, Death + Robots is in the works. According to reports, the streaming service has negotiated a four-year exclusive agreement with the series’ co-creator, David Fincher.

The overall reception of the series
‘Love, Death + Robots’ Volume 1
For the first volume, review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes compiled 43 critic reviews and identified 77% as positive, with an average rating of 7.03/10. The website’s critical consensus reads, “This animated anthology has enough creative Death to satisfy cyberpunk aficionados who Love their Robots to have some Heavy Metal influence, but the series’ lofty ambitions are often undercut by a preoccupation with gore and titillation.”
Metacritic sampled 4 reviews from mainstream critics and calculated a weighted average score of 65/100, indicating “generally favorable reviews.”
‘Love, Death + Robots’ Volume 2
The second volume has an 85% rating from 14 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, with an average rating of 6.70/10.
Matt Fowler of IGN stated that the season needed a higher episode count, “even though its first season had too many. A shorter catalog is probably best here since this year’s batch of stories features some repeating themes. That being said, the series continues to be an enjoyable thought-provoking buffet of animated wonders and wickedness.”
According to IMDb, the series has a score of 8.4 out of 10 with 134K votes.
