Manifest Season 4 Part 2: What to expect in the final season?
Manifest follows the lives of the passengers and crew of Montego Air Flight 828, who mysteriously reappear after being presumed dead for five years. So far, there is no doubt that after the intense cliffhanger at the end of part 1, the fans have eagerly been awaiting the continuation of their favorite characters’ stories.
With many major questions still unanswered, Manifest Season 4 Part 2 promises to bring closure to the nail-biting mystery surrounding the passengers’ reappearing. But hold on to your seats as this season will include more jaw-dropping developments, romantic entanglements, unpredictable twists, and new dangers than we ever have encountered before.
With Season 4 Part 2 being the final installment, it’s time to discover the answers to the most prominent questions with this phenomenal cast of characters. So get ready for an unforgettable ride as we join the Stone family and the passengers of Flight 828 on this final stretch of their mystical journey!
As of writing this, we are certain that the plot will pick right after the finale episode of the first part, “Inversion Illusion.”
In that episode, the viewers saw that in a vision, Grace requests that Ben accompany Eden to her final resting place. Angelina possesses the Omega Sapphire, Eagan informs Michaela and Jared in the hospital. Ben takes Eden away after learning at the graveyard that Angelina was pulling a fake. All 828 passengers are impacted by Angelina’s fury, which is intensified by the sapphire.
Michaela and Ben locate Angelina holding people prisoner in the church at her former school where the Omega Sapphire has created lava with Olive’s assistance. Cal’s dragon scar enables him to summon the plane and battle, Angelina. The Omega Sapphire breaks during the battle. All 828 passengers are placed under emergency detention by the US government until further notice.
Later, a Registry team led by Dr. Gupta infiltrates Vance’s lab. Zeke gives his life in order to save Cal. As lava crevices begin to appear, a delirious Angelina is able to escape the school while carrying a piece of Omega sapphire in her burned hand. So, this cliffhanger is enough to build the plot further without diving in another direction for the show creators to reach a good conclusion.
Moreover, the release date for the final 10 episodes, also has great significance because it is predicted to be the death date for the 828ers. Originally, it was believed that this prediction applied to the 191 passengers on the flight, and they would all live or die together. However, the group has since learned that if they are unable to successfully evade their predestined doom, the same fate will befall all humanity.
So, it’s interesting to see that Netflix opted to choose this date to roll out the official promos. Maybe it hints at the plot of the series finale? We’ll only know what happens next when the episodes air in a few weeks!
Manifest Season 4 Part 2 Spoilers
If you haven’t streamed the prior episodes we suggest you stop reading this section to avoid some crucial spoilers! As, in an interview with TV Guide, creator Jeff Rake spoke about the first half of Season 4 and what it sets up for Part 2 by giving some major hints into some important plotlines which are as follows:
Firstly, Angelina will become increasingly powerful, viewing herself as Noah and having a narrow definition of who the righteous are. Rake explained, “What we will learn is that she has a very narrow definition of who are the righteous and that does not necessarily include most of the people who we have come to know and love on the show. It’s an incredibly narrow definition. That will be kind of the centerpiece of the mythological conflict. That will play out in the final epic 10 episodes.”
Also adding, “We’ve talked somewhat about the Noah myth and Noah’s Ark, and that continues to become a big part of our mythology in the final 10 episodes. Angelina, spoiler alert, will come to believe that she is effectively Noah. She and her family are basically the only people who deserve to board the ark, whatever that may be, as we approach the death date. So it’s up to Ben, Mick, and perhaps mostly Cal to defeat Angelina as we make our way into the final block. The problem is that Angelina becomes increasingly powerful. We saw how powerful she was right there in Episode 410, and that’s only gonna get worse.”
Secondly, Angelina having the sapphire will be problematic, creating a conflict between Cal, Ben, and Mick, who might need to collaborate with her to save themselves. “[Angelina having the sapphire] is incredibly problematic,” Rake said. “That is gonna become increasingly powerful in terms of Cal’s belief that he has to maybe collaborate with her and somehow work with her, as hateful as she is. Sometimes you believe that you have to collaborate with your enemy in order to save yourselves and that’s a big part of the storytelling in the final block.”
Also added, “Ultimately, Cal, Ben, and Mick will be fighting to some extent, as they ask themselves, is it possible that the divine would really want them to have to work with this woman who killed Cal’s mom? Is there a world in which the divine would really want them to team up with her so that they can all save themselves, which seems impossible? Or is there another way?”
Thirdly, Zeke’s death leaves an opening for Michaela. “With Zeke being gone, Jared, who still thinks of Mick as the love of his life is obviously wondering, how long do I have to wait before trying again?” Rake stated, Further adding. “And we’re gonna see that happen. And even Mick, who can’t help but still feel something for Jared because he was the love of her life at one point, is gonna be asking herself, ‘How long do I have to wait, at what point am I ready to move on romantically in my life?’ We’re gonna watch that play out, and we’ll see where it leads.”
