So, what do you think the worth of her songs will be? Recently, Marc Maron revealed the cost of Swift’s song, and this is sure to leave many in shock.
According to the podcast host, the singer’s ballad Bigger Than The Whole Sky cost him $50k. For the unversed, Marc used the song in his upcoming comedy special, Marc Maron: Panicked.
He added humorously, “I did everything I could to get the joke in front of her.”
How did he get the rights?
Marc reportedly got in touch with Swift’s friend and collaborator Jack Antonoff to get his rights over the song. Luckily, with the latter’s help, the comedian could use the song by paying a whopping amount of $50,000.
Here’s what he said about paying the expenses: “It was doable. We made enough money. It was tight, but because of the ticket sales for the special, we were able to get that song.”
