Is Men in Kilts Season 2 coming in October? Read on to find out.

With the Outlander-inspired travelogue Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham nominated for four American reality TV Awards, fans of the show have been (impatiently) anticipating a second season to premiere on Starz and then eventually hit Netflix. 2022 abounds a bag full of good news for the Outlander fans since its sixth season featuring Sam Griggs and Catriona Balfe finally hit the screens on Sunday, March 6. To add a cherry on top of the cake, the ninth book in the Outlander series, Go Tell the Bees That I am Gone, written by Diana Gabardine, was published in November 2021.

In November 2021, Heughen and McTavish announced that their travel series would be renewed for a second season. The announcement was made through a video that included their idiosyncratic banter and mockery.

Heughen said, “We had such a fantastic time on Men in Kilts season 1.” He further added, “We’re going to do it again!”

For those unversed, Season 1 of Men in Kilts dug the lands of the actors’ homeland, Scotland, deep, and according to Parade, “the six-episode season 2 will take Heughen and McTavish all the way to the other side of the globe when they head to New Zealand. ”

McTavish tweeted, “There will be driving, joy, shock, surprises, landscapes, history, and a celebration of all things Kiwi.”

When will Men in Kilts season 2 be released?

At the time of writing, no release date is mentioned. However, according to the filming updates on February 16, 2022, the brand new season has finished filming. The news was announced by Heughen on social media along with a photo that featured him and McTavish, undoubtedly and unsurprisingly clad in kilts.

The post was captioned, “That’s a wrap! Incredible road trip around NZ, huge thank you to everyone that helped us navigate every bump in the road and really helped us go the extra mile!” He added, “You’re going to LOVE Season 2… I promise @grahammctavish is still alive.”

How many episodes will Men in Kilts season 1 constitute?

Unlike Season 1, which was aired in eight episodes, Men in Kilts Season 2 will reportedly constitute six episodes.

To start with, the viewers of the show can expect this Outlander-inspired travelogue series to change its setting from Scotland to New Zealand. Although Outlander is now taking place in America, its travelogue will be located in the place where Scottish immigrants settled, that is, New Zealand.

The potential reason why the location has been changed can be traced back to the origins of McTavish, who was originally from Scotland but has lived in New Zealand ever since 2011. In the season 2 renewal announcement, McTavish hailed the country as “a place that I love dearly.”

For McTavish, New Zealand is “the Scotland of the Southern hemisphere”, owing to Scottish immigration.

In addition to the flag bearing the culture and the tradition that Scottish immigrants followed in the early 19th century, according to Heughen, the second season will also “be looking at the culture of New Zealand: the food, the drink, the (indigenous) Maori culture.”

Heughen also piqued the interest of his viewers by mentioning that they can expect to have more “high octane activities, the death-defying adrenaline junkie adventures.”
