Netflix is home to a huge library of K-dramas. From re-releasing already aired shows to producing and acquiring the license of upcoming dramas, the streaming giant doesn’t intend to slow down anytime soon.
One such highly anticipated K-drama is the JTBC’s upcoming, My Liberation Notes (English title), also known as My Liberation Diary (Korean title). The drama is directed by Kim Seok Yoon, the man behind Law School (2021), and The Light in Your Eyes (2019). The drama is written by the hit, Another Miss Oh (2016) writer, Park Hae Young.
Kim and Park have previously worked together on the television series Old Miss Diary (2004), I Live in Cheongdam-dong (2011), and the movie Old Miss Diary (2006). We can’t wait to see the magic the duo creates again.
My Liberation Notes Plot
My Liberation Notes follows three siblings and a stranger.
Yeom Ki Jung is the oldest sibling with a hot temper. A lot of her time is wasted traveling from Seoul to her home in Sanpo Village because of her work. Her life seems to be full of complaints. Right now she is at the stage of life where she wants to fall in love and have a fulfilling relationship.
Yeom Chang Hee, the middle child of the family, wants to run away from his family house. But, he has no goals or dreams to know where he should go. He is the most looked down upon family member.
Yeom Mi Jung is the youngest child. She wants to be liberated from her boring life, but her introverted and timid personality doesn’t allow her to do so. She feels lonely and empty in life. That is until the day she decides to approach the mysterious stranger in her neighborhood, Mr.Goo.
My Liberation Notes Release Date
My Liberation Notes is scheduled to premiere on April 9, 2022, on JTBC and Netflix. The show is set to have 16 episodes, with each episode being aired every Saturday and Sunday until the last episode on May 29, 2022.

My Liberation Notes Cast
Lee El will be playing the role of the oldest sister, Yeom Ki Jung. Lee is best known for playing Lee Byung Hun’s doomed love interest in the film Inside Men (2015), as well as minor roles in the television series Monster (2016) and Goblin (2016).
Lee Min Ki will be seen playing Yeom Chang Hee. Ki is an actor, model, and singer. He made his television debut in the drama Taereung National Village in 2005. Since then he has appeared in several movies and dramas including Oh My Ladylord (2021), The Beauty Inside (2018), Shoot My Heart (2015), and Spellbound (2011).
The youngest sibling will be played by Fight For My Way (2017) star, Kim Ji Won. Won has been a part of smash-hit dramas like Descendants of the Sun (2016), The Heirs (2013), and Arthdal Chronicles.
Mr. Goo will be played by the very talented Son Seok Koo. Son is well known for his iconic role of Detective Mun in Netflix’s Sense8. He is also famous for his roles in Hit-and-Run Squad (2019), Be Melodramatic (2019), and D.P. (2020).
Other cast members include Lee Ki Woo as Jo Tae Hoon, Chun Ho Jin as Yeom Je Ho, Jeon Hye Jin as Hyun Ah, Jeon Soo JinYe Rin, Jung Soo Young, and Kim Ro Sa.
