First released in 2019, Nancy Drew is a mystery drama series based on a series of novels about the fictional character, Nancy Drew, and was adapted for The CW by Noga Landau, Josh Schwartz, and Stephanie Savage, and is produced by CBS Studios.

The series took the viewers on a thrilling journey involving secrets, lies, and horror and has been quite popular with a 73 percent audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

With the series entertaining the audience for three seasons now, we are sure you must be waiting for the release of its fourth season. Though the official release date of Nancy Drew Season 4  is out, the makers have now made it official that the series’ fourth season is going to be it’s last along with another series Riverdale, which is sure to leave fans disappointed.

The CW network has announced Nancy Drew’s final season will premiere on Wednesday, May 31 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW, streaming the next day on The CW app and website.

Seasons 1-3 of the series are now streaming on HBO Max.

As season 4 is going to be the last one of the series, President of entertainment at The CW Network, Brad Schwartz spoke about the show’s end to Collider, “Riverdale’ and ‘Nancy Drew’ are two beloved CW series with some of the most passionate and dedicated fans in all of television, and these final seasons are true gifts to them. As we prepare to say farewell to these iconic characters, there are still plenty of surprises and shocking twists packed into both series as they conclude at the top of their game.”

What is the plot of Nancy Drew?

The plot revolves around Nancy Drew, who is an 18-year-old girl dealing with the loss of her mother. She gets involved in an investigation of town socialite Tiffany Hudson’s murder. Her friends agree to clear their names of suspicion along with her and when they start digging out the secrets behind the murder, Nancy finds a connection between Tiffany’s murder to a long-cold case that has turned into an urban legend.

In Season 1, Nancy (Kennedy McMann) was shown as a recent high school graduate who hoped to leave her hometown of Horseshoe Bay, Maine to pursue a college education. However, her plans get overturned after she finds herself drawn into a supernatural mystery. Unable to resist, she and her friends then set out to solve a murder.

In Season 3, the makers went head-to-head with Nancy’s ancestor, Temperance Hudson (Bo Martynowska and Olivia Taylor Dudley). As the season reached its conclusion, Temperance was on the verge of destroying Horseshoe Bay and the team just hardly managed to stop her for good. However, Temperance left them with one final blow: reanimating corpses from the cemetery. She also cursed Nancy so that if she tries to act on her feelings for Ace (Alex Saxon), disaster will strike.

What to expect from Nancy Drew season 4?

As the stakes continue to rise, the final season of the series is expected to pick up on the threads of season 3 and follow Nancy as she investigates the disappearance of several corpses from Horseshoe Bay’s cemetery. Excitement is bound to increase as Nancy will soon be confronted by the consequences of her efforts to protect her hometown.
