Well, you know what they say. There’s no way someone could go wrong with action mixed with thriller. NCIS is confirmed for season 21, and here’s our prediction on its release!
NCIS first premiered on 23 September 2003 on CBS and is now available on Amazon Prime has confirmed its comeback with another season along with double trouble! The double trouble is two new spin-offs; NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: Hawaii.
“It’s official – #NCIS is back for its 20th season! Parker and the team return for all-new cases and even more drama. Who’s excited?”, NCIS revealed through their Instagram account.
Special agent and determined investigator Leroy Jethro Gibbs leads a team of agents at the Naval Criminal Investigative Service as they solve multiple criminal cases together. Season 20 came to an end with the Russian spy plot coming to a head and Torres finding out deeper and darker secrets than he had in the previous seasons.
The show was loved by the fans as they eagerly waited for each episode to reel out on its own while some claim that the show isn’t the same as it used to be initially. However, Gibbs kept them hooked for the longest time. As the renewal news surfaced, fans have been speculating if Gibbs is even in it for the upcoming season, as they didn’t come across his pictures in the posters for the renewal announcement.
Gibbs actor Mark ended his 18 years of play as the lead role back at the beginning of season 19. In the series, the character was seen deciding to retire from law enforcement. While some fans are disappointed due to this very possibility, showrunner Steve Binder said in an interview for season 20 to “never count Leroy Jethro Gibbs out.”
Even though season 20 was led by Harmon, fans are still hopeful for Gibb’s return to the show. NCIS season 21 has very little information about its plot and release date. However, it is expected to return with the team in even more action, solving complex and intangible cases that concern national security.
They are obviously coming back with drama of their own, each character ranging vividly from the other. With some new characters and old ones, this action-packed series aired its 20th season on September 9, 2022, and no statement for the 21st season premiere has surfaced as of yet. However, those who know, know that the series always look for a fall premiere, but this fall looks different than others owing to the writers’ and actors’ strike. Hence, our best prediction will obviously be somewhere in mid-2024.
However, if things start to fall in place soon, we might even see the new season hit our screens sooner than expected. But the chances of this are slim since the strikes have impacted a lot of big shows.
But we have to understand that all of this is a mere prediction at this time since we haven’t heard a word from the network or the creators, so it’s best to wait for the strikes to end so that we can have a clear picture of the release of NCIS Season 21.
