Outlander Season 8: Is it renewed or not?
If you have been keeping up with this historical drama series, then you know that the much-awaited Outlander Season 8 has been renewed and is officially on the way!
The series was officially picked up by Starz in January 2023 with a 10-episode first season of Outlander: Blood of My Blood, which will focus on Jamie Fraser’s parents, Brian and Ellen Fraser. While the parent series was announced to have been renewed for an eighth and final season by the Straz network.
Since then, it is obvious that there is still a long way to go before it premieres, as the production hasn’t even begun yet. It is assumed that it is in the early stages of writing because, if you’ve been keeping up with the series’ most recent updates, there is no chance that the eighth season will air this year.
There have been no other significant updates revealed thus far. Given all these aspects of the show’s current state, the filming of Outlander Season 8 appears to be far off. According to what we’ve heard, the cast and crew will definitely take a break after the hectic schedule for filming the seventh season for the whole year.
This will eventually lead to the production of the final season commencing sometime later this year, or maybe once the new season starts airing the episodes. The release date for Season 8 has not been announced or hinted at by the creators. It is speculated to arrive before the end of 2024 or sometime in 2025.
That would enable the show to continue airing for a while. Furthermore, it might be extended even further if the debut of Outlander: Blood of My Blood occurs before the release of season 8. Of course, at this point, everything is speculative! So, we ask the fans to keep a closer eye on social media for all the latest details.
