Is Physical renewed for Season 2?

Yes, Physical has been officially renewed for a second season by Apple TV+. Filming for the second season began in November 2021 and wrapped up filming in March 2022. According to Deadline, Michelle Lee, Director of Domestic Programming at Apple TV+ stated, “We couldn’t be more proud to showcase Annie Weisman’s singular take on this darkly funny, heartbreaking and bold story,” 

Further adding, “And then we got to watch Rose Byrne inhabit this incredible, multi-layered character, giving us an unforgettable tour de force performance. We have been thrilled to see audiences around the world fall in love and feel seen by this show and we can’t wait for everyone to experience the next chapter in Sheila’s journey towards personal empowerment.”

Physical Season 2 Release Date

According to Deadline, the network announced that the series was renewed for a second season ahead of its first season finale which is set to premiere on June 3, 2022. The announcement was shared by the official Twitter handle of the series, quoting, “#Physical is back for Season 2 premiering June 3 on Apple TV+. Murray Bartlett joins Rose Byrne in the comedy-drama series executive produced by Annie Weisman.” Take a look at the official post below:

The official plot for the upcoming season was released in the official press release by Apple TV+ which indicates, “Physical season two finds our hero Sheila Rubin (Byrne) having successfully launched her first fitness video only to encounter some new and bigger obstacles on her path. She is torn between loyalty to her husband (Rory Scovel) and the values he represents and a dangerous attraction to someone else. And since she’s no longer the only game in town, she finds herself having to outrun some fierce new competitors on the road to building a full-fledged fitness empire.”

We should mention that Physical Season 2 may feature some new cast members and the departure of some characters, which the network will announce. Meanwhile, the original cast is expected to return for the next season along with some recurring cast members.

The upcoming season of Physical will include 10 episodes just like the first season with the runtime of each episode ranging between 27–34 minutes. We’d also like to point out that, as of May 30, 2022, the exact titles for the episodes of the second season cannot be confirmed, as the network will publish those titles when the episodes are due to air on the streaming service.
