Rebelde Season 2 Plot
According to Netflix Tudum, the class is back in session at the Elite Way School. But the same rules from last semester don’t necessarily apply in Rebelde. As in the Season 1 saw Jana (Azul Guaita), Estebán (Sergio Mayer Mori), Andi (Selene), Dixón (Jerónimo Castillo), Luka (Franco Masini) and MJ (Andrea Chaparro) band together (literally) to form Rebelde and compete in the climactic battle of the bands in the finale. But the Musical Excellence Program’s (MEP) new director, Mr. Bauman (Flavio Medina), is more into solo acts than musical groups. “My goal is to bring the MEP to the present,” he tells the class in the new trailer for Rebelde Season 2.
Moreover, the upcoming season is expected to continue its plotline from the finale episode of the first season, The Grand Finale. In the episode, the viewers got to see that to make it to the final of The Battle of the Bands, The Nonames raced around the clock to get solid proof that would expose the members of The Lodge.
While it’s difficult to predict the upcoming season’s exact plot structure this early on, it’s been speculated that the next season would pick up any cliffhangers and subplots and delve right into this world by giving fans something different to look at instead of the same old themes just like the prior season. Viewers and critics from all around the world have thus far given the reception a fairly good review.
Consequently, the series will entice viewers to watch it when it airs on the streaming platform. So, it will be interesting to see how they deal with this added pressure and introduce something new to the series for a satisfactory conclusion. Moreover, the next season is speculated to have eight episodes for Rebelde Season 2, with each having a runtime of around 32–48 minutes, just like season one. The precise episode titles and synopsis for the future season can not be confirmed as of July 21, 2022. So, fans are advised to wait patiently and binge-watch the prior season in the meantime to refresh their recollection of important storylines.
Rebelde Season 2 Cast Updates
Following is a list of the series’ main cast members who were anticipated to return in their roles, along with a synopsis of each character:
Azul Guaita as Jana Cohen Gandía: A famous teen pop star and pianist, Jana comes to EWS to pursue music her own way, but her manager’s mom disapproves. When she arrives at the boarding school to try out for the Musical Excellence Program, Jana is welcomed by her boyfriend Sebas — and the many haters who can’t wait to see her falter.
Sergio Mayer Mori as Esteban: A talented pianist from Puebla, Mexico, Esteban is going to EWS on scholarship, as his family does not have the money most of his peers do. His father worries he’ll have trouble fitting in among the rich students at EWS, but despite that, Esteban immediately hits it off with Jana.
Franco Masini as Luka Colucci: A snobby teen from Argentina, Luka wants to make music, even though his wealthy and mostly absent father wants him to enroll in a business program. While he seemingly dislikes everyone at the school and is endlessly cruel, his heritage as a Colucci gives him credibility — and a reputation — at EWS.
Andrea Chaparro as María José/Mj: Shy MJ is a teen from California who’s previously only gone to all-girl schools and whose religious upbringing is tested at EWS. As she arrives at her new school to try out for the MEP program as a pianist and singer, she’s immediately attracted to Esteban.
Jerónimo Cantillo as Dixon/Guillermo: Dixon is a street-smart teen from Colombia who is challenged by and shuts down a bully who discriminates against him on his first day at EWS. His dream is to become a successful hip-hop artist.
Lizeth Selene as Andi Agosti: Brooding Andi has come to EWS to play the drums and isn’t concerned with academics. She has a fraught relationship with her mom’s controlling boyfriend, who reports her to the principal for vaping upon her arrival at school. Still, Andi quickly forms a bond with Emilia.
Alejandro Puente as Sebastián (Sebas) Langarica: Sebas is a current student at EWS and the MEP co-captain, along with Emilia. Sebas is affectionate with and very attached to his pop-star girlfriend Jana but feels threatened when Esteban gets in the way.
Giovanna Grigio as Emilia: Queen bee Emilia, a famous Brazilian influencer, shows the new students around and does not mince words. Instead, she lets everyone know they’re in for the competition of their lives. She is a co-captain of the MEP, along with Sebas.
Saak as Okane: According to official sources, Joel Isaac Figueroa will be joining the cast of the show in Season 2. Saak is the stage name of the musician, social media influencer, and YouTuber. Saak has gained notoriety as a result of his involvement with the influencer collective Los Caballeros, which also includes Juanpa Zurita, Sebastián Villalobos, Mario Bautista, and other notable members. Saak will play Okane, a new student at Elite Way School.
