The 26-year-old ‘Espresso’ singer, Sabrina Carpenter, is ‘freaking out’ over her upcoming collaboration with Taylor Swift, marking a significant milestone in her career. As the sole featured artist on Swift’s 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, Carpenter is on her way to hit the records with her idol.

After Swift’s surprise announcement of her album release on Wednesday, August 13, reactions from fans and pop icons swiftly followed, including Carpenter’s.

The young singer couldn’t hold back her excitement over her collaboration with Swift on the title track of the latter’s album. She hit ‘post’ on Instagram Stories, sharing a heart-emoji caption that betrayed her excitement. Sharing the back cover of the 14-time Grammy winner’s upcoming record, Carpenter’s caption read:

“THE LIFE OF A SHOWGIRL OCTOBER 3rd 🧡 i know someone who’s freaking out and it’s me.”

Carpenter also posted a throwback photo from fall 2024, sharing a stage with Swift during the Eras Tour in New Orleans. In the photo, Carpenter cheered for Swift in a white dress as they performed a mashup of Carpenter’s “Espresso” and Swift’s “Is It Over Now?”, as well as “Please Please Please”.

Adding to these couple of stories, Carpenter also shared a promo photo of Swift’s latest album writing, “must also point out that.”

Carpenter’s adulation for the 35-year-old singer is not a recent thing. In a conversation with Rolling Stone last year, the young singer revealed that she placed Swift in a “different echelon.”

“I could never compare my life, my career, my trajectory to anything close to what she’s done.”

In fact, her appreciation for Swift began when she started her career back in 2009. According to the news outlet, when Carpenter was uploading YouTube videos singing covers of popular songs, she did an amazing rendition of Swift’s “Picture to Burn”.

So quite understandably, when Swift revealed the collaboration, which by the way is the only feature for this album, Carpenter found herself ‘freaking out.’

Swift’s forthcoming album, The Life Of a Showgirl, will be released on October 3, 2025. The news has got all Swifties on the edges of their seats, especially after the pop star revealed the cover art for the record. The artwork showed the singer in a shimmering, cut-out one-piece, with her signature red lips and smoky eye makeup.

Swift captioned the post with:

“And, baby, that’s show business for you. New album The Life of a Showgirl. Out October 3.”

Produced by Swift, Max Martin, and Shellback, the singer also unveiled follow-up images where she is seen enamoured with a dazzling piece covered with rhinestones, features, and matching headpieces, screaming showgirl.

And that’s not it.

Spiking the excitement of her cult, Swift also shared the track list of the album, which included songs like “Elizabeth’s Taylor”, “Ruin the Friendship”, “Honey”, “Actually Romantic”, “CANCELLED!”, “Eldest Daughter”, “Opalite”, and “The Fate of Ophelia”.

These titles evoke a sense of tumultuous energy, peppered with classic mystery and Swift’s signature glamor. If asked to describe this album in one line, it would be:

“A whirlwind of emotions.”

Most of the details about the cover and track listing for her latest album were shared by her when she appeared on her boyfriend, Travis Kelce’s, podcast New Heights on Tuesday, August 13.

Quite interestingly, the album has 12 tracks, aligning with it being her 12th album, as observed by The Guardian. The news outlet also mentioned that the album constitutes a cover of George Michael’s 1987 song, “Father Figure”.

Talking about the origin story of the album, Swift revealed that it was inspired while she was hitting the roads for two years during her global Eras tour, which reportedly became the first billion-dollar tour in history, crossing over $2 billion within 2 years.

Confessing that the album “comes from the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in my life”, Swift is set to cross her own benchmark this October.

Her previous album, The Tortured Poets Department, made her the first artist in global history to secure the top 14 spots on the Billboard Hot 100, with 300 million streams in one day and 1 billion in five on Spotify.
