Selling Sunset Season 7: When will the reality television series return on Netflix?

Ready to ride into the sunset with our ethereal real estate brokers of Oppenheim?

With exaggerated drama, exorbitant paychecks, manicured nails, and some millions of feuds later, we are approaching Season 7 of our favorite Netflix reality TV show.

Season 6 made its debut on May 19, 2023, giving the fans ample amount of information to gossip about, and we also know Selling Sunset Season 7 is on the verge of a release.

For those unversed, Selling Sunset underscores real-estate agents who belong to Oppenheim Group, which is run by brothers Jason and Brett Oppenheim. The siblings hire beautiful and ambitious women as high-end real estate agents whose main job is to sell luxury properties in Los Angeles. The core faces include former soap opera star Chrishell Stause, bubbly blonde Heather El Moussa, and the series villain Christine Quinn(she won’t be returning this season).

We have some updates regarding the current status of Selling Sunset Season 7, and it looks like it’s good news for the O.G. fans. Continue reading to find out.

Selling Sunset Season 7: Are There Any Expectations For August?

Selling Sunset Season 7: Here’s everything we know so far

Seasons 6 and 7 were simultaneously renewed in June 2022, following a double-season renewal tradition that the show has been following over the four years. Consequently, they also film the two seasons together on top of renewing them. To that effect, since Season 6 is already out, it is safe to say that filming for Selling Sunset Season 7 is done and dusted! This was confirmed by Netflix, the streaming giant where you will find the rest of the six seasons of Selling Sunset right now.

The official press release made by Netflix Tudum reads:

“Creator and executive producer Adam DiVello’s reality series has been renewed for two more seasons, with production starting this summer. Following one of the top real estate agencies in the Hollywood Hills and Sunset Strip, the series showcases some of LA’s most luxurious homes — as well as The O Group agents’ through-the-roof drama.”

We know what is looming over your heads. “But the strike situation?” Well, unlike the fate scripted shows of streaming giants had to face due to the sudden onslaught of the WGA and SAG AFTRA strikes, non-scripted shows and reality TV shows didn’t have to face the exact same brunt. Considering that filming for Season 7 is already done, we can predict a 2023 fall release.

Hence no, Selling Sunset Season 7 will not be reaching us in August but will reach us sometime later in the year, preferably in October 2023.

Surprisingly, in March 2023, Chrishell Stause commented that she was not enjoying filming the new episodes of Selling Sunset. According to Us Weekly, the agent shared an Instagram story wherein she wrote,

“The way reality TV producers manipulate things to create a narrative… Sucks to not be able to be proud of what you’re working on.”

Not only that, but the realtor even tagged the production company behind Selling Sunset, posting a slew of trash cans and snake emojis. Well, good thing we like Chrishell!

And the ones who won’t be reprising their roles are:

Davina Potratz and Maya Vander are doubtful to join back the Oppenheim Group since they disappeared in Season 6 itself after appearing for a brief while.

Meanwhile, Christine Quinn and Maya Vander confirmed that they would not be reprising their roles as real estate agents in the series. In May 2022, Quinn, who was projected as the series villain, told PEOPLE that she had left the Oppenheim Group following the April 2022 launch of her and her husband Christian Dumontet’s crypto real estate venture, RealOpen. She said,

“I would never come back in a million years. But that doesn’t mean I’m not gonna do TV anymore.”(via Entertainment Weekly)

Additionally, Vander confirmed that she wouldn’t be returning to the sixth season of Selling Sunset following inaugurating her own real estate group in Miami.

In addition to the above-mentioned cast, PEOPLE also confirmed that Vanessa Villela, who was featured in seasons 4 and 5, won’t be returning in the future seasons of the show. As per the outlet, “the star had not yet signed on with Netflix for the upcoming sixth and seventh seasons.”

In a conversation with E! News in March 2023, El Moussa said, “Season 7 is filming right now, but I’ve been off maternity leave and I’ve been excited to get back to work and so far I have not been called back. It’s been a little frustrating. So [I’m] not sure what’s been going on.”

If there is news of any more cast shakeups and new entries, we will be sure to update you here.

Selling Sunset Season 7: Expected Plot

Selling Sunset Season 6: Release date, time slots plot, cast, trailer and other details

*Spoiler Alert*

The structure of the TV show pretty much remains constant throughout the seasons. Real estate brokers who sell jaw-dropping exorbitant properties give us a pour of the rich-tasting lifestyle, some scandalous romances, and several instances where things seem to get catty!

Season 6 saw glimpses of the lava boiling between new agent Nicole and the iconic Chrishell. Things seriously over-boiled to the tip of the volcano when Chrishell suggested Nicole was on drugs when the group was on their way to Palm Springs. Furious over this accusation, Nicole took a drug test to prove her innocence and threatened to sue Chrishell for such a harsh allegation. We even witnessed Nicole consulting with a lawyer. So does this mean there is an impending volcano ready to erupt in Season 7? We sure hope so!

In a conversation with Entertainment Tonight, Stause commented on Young’s behavior, saying it was purely for the cameras. She said,

“It’s an old playbook. I’ve seen it before. I’ve dealt with it before. You’re coming at me, that didn’t work, and now all of a sudden you’re the victim that’s going to act like you’re getting bullied.”

Looks like victim cards are scattered all around the plot of this Season. Let’s see who convinces the audience of their innocence better!

Not satisfied? We have some more dramas that could play out this season.

Bre Tiesi and Chelsea Lazkani’s unresolved issues might make things even more interesting. Who would want to miss Lazkani’s aversion to Tiesi’s relationship with Nick Cannon?

Stause and G Flip tied the knot in Las Vegas, but sadly they decided to keep their moment private, so we won’t get to notice any lavish weddings by the sunset. Sigh!

At the end of the final episode of the sixth season, a short montage of clips was released from Selling Sunset season 7, allowing the viewers to peek inside the future of The Oppenheim Group. From heavily pregnant Heather Rae El Moussa to Amanza Smith, who finds herself in the middle of a serious health crisis, season 7 will only get more interesting to watch.

Heather is a new mom, and she and her husband, Tarek El Moussa, have debuted a new HGTV show, The Flipping El Moussas.

A surprising feud between Chrishell and Amanza was confirmed via Amanza’s response to a comment on one of her Instagram posts, where she revealed that she had blocked Chrishell on social media, per People. After a fan called Smith out for “uncalled drama,” she wrote back:

“I’ve never given any reason as to why I blocked Chrishell to anyone because I don’t think anyone has asked so far. Don’t worry I’m happy to share in due time.”

Looks like Chrishell is not the warmest broker on the show.

Well, looks like Amanza is doing well and good after her health scare that got us worried sick. She confirmed that she “was happier than [she’s] been in forever.” She also commented on Chrishell’s condition despite their feud, saying,

“I know that it is very public that Chrishell and I have our own little feud right now however, I also know that she too, has suffered a great deal of pain by losing loved ones from this terrible awful disease,” Amanza wrote. “It affects everyone involved in a very heartbreaking way. Let’s celebrate life on this post and I urge you to please if you are going to comment make this one, the one that you bite your tongue and only make it positive.”

Chrishell added that she still “loves” Amanza despite what happens and hopes she’ll learn to put everything in the past.

“I literally love her, so I think that right now she’s in her feelings because she wanted to get something on the show, but at some point, she has to understand this is my partner. I’m very protective,” Stause said.

Well, we will just have to wait for Selling Sunset Season 7 to find out which of the dramas make it into the show!
