“Gloria, Gloria, I think They’ve got your number.”
In the world of fantasy, horror, or supernatural, Somebody Somewhere touched the core of Gen X’s problems. Sam, who got her midlife crises in her 40s, especially after her sister’s death found comfort with her co-worker’s company. For the choir practices, she picked her family’s barn, while fans are eager to know what Rick was doing at the choir practice.
Can we believe that he stumbled upon it one night & ended up liking it? Sam in her sister’s old room was a peaceful scene to watch & we wonder how many more we’ll get in the next season. Somebody Somewhere is a wholesome series & the first season proved it. Now the second installment is just around the corner, let’s discuss Somebody Somewhere Season 2.

Somebody Somewhere is an American comedy-drama television series, thanks to Hanna Bos and Paul Thureen. The series is inspired by the life of Bridget Everett, an American Comedian, actress, singer, writer, and cabaret performer. She’s an executive producer of the show while playing the lead role of Sam. In February 2022, HBO renewed the series for a second season. Somebody Somewhere, the low-fi comedy, arrived on our TV screens the same way its main character would arrive back in her hometown of Manhattan, Kansas, after her sister’s death. Now, let’s see how much Sam has moved on in Somebody Somewhere Season 2.
Everything you need to know about Somebody Somewhere Season 2:
We know how the first season ended, with lots of drama and comedy. For those who haven’t watched the series yet, spoiler alert!
In the first season, we first saw Sam struggling to fit in, especially after her sister’s death. While her alcoholic mom remains on the road to recovery, the matriarch was still unable to cope with the effects her drinking has had on her daughters. In the finale, we saw Sam quitting the standardized testing facility she worked in and joining her sister Tricia’s store. Surprisingly she has become quite the saleswoman now! On the other hand, Joel found a diary of Sam in which, were the songs dedicated to her late sister, Holly. In the end, we witnessed the catfight between Charity and Tricia when she found out Tricia had nothing on her.

In the second season, we hope to follow a happy version of Sam, however in the official plot synopsis stated, “The second season will follow Sam (Bridget Everett), a true Kansan on the surface, but beneath it, all, struggling to fit the hometown mold. Grappling with loss & approval singing is Sam’s saving grace and leads her on a journey to discover herself and a community of outsiders who don’t fit in, but don’t give up, showing that finding your people and finding your voice, is possible. Anywhere. Somewhere. Season 2 reminds us that families are hard, even fun ones. Sam and Joel (Jeff Hiller) have settled into a comfy routine. But nothing stays the same forever.”
