Station 19 Season 7: How will the long wait affect the story?

Station 19 Season 7 is not coming to ABC in September 2023

Fire is one of the most powerful and destructive elements of nature. On one hand, it has the power to burn everything and take life; on the other, in many mythologies, it acts as the source and savior of life. Our ancestors discovered fire by rubbing stones together, and what started as a mistake and a discovery turned into a great source of light, cooked food, warmth, and more.

While police, doctors, and lawyers are important, how can we forget the people who, in a literal sense, ‘Play with fire’ and save lives every day? They deal with toxins like carbon monoxide and sulfur breakouts alongside going into dangerously burning buildings to save people. Yes, we are talking about the firefighters, one of the crucial numbers on our dial list for emergencies.

With limited representation of the fire department in shows, Station 19 became a hit because of its unique and authentic approach with strong character building. Remember Andy Herrera and Capt. Pruitt Herrera? An action drama originally produced by Trip The Light, Shondaland, and now ABC Signature, this ABC Network original is set to come out. But will the long break impact the story? Let us find out.

The sixth season ended with a cliffhanger that has left fans restless for a seventh season. The latest update on the show came out by FanSided Entertainment staff, who spoke on the story contributions. It happened on September 13, 2023, but the chances of seeing the show soon are bleak. The show was officially renewed on April 7, 2023, and is not the final season. With the show not making it to the ABC Network’s fall release list, which is full of reality and TV shows, fans are curious to know what is delaying the show.

Reasons the show is delayed:

  • ABC had planned ahead of the Writers’ strike, thinking the show would resume in July and be out in fall 2023. However, with the strike not seeing an end, none of this could happen.
  • The SAG-AFTRA Strikes and lack of negotiations with AMTMP to provide a good deal and not hinder the functioning of so many networks have delayed the show even further.

But in a TV Line report, FOX Entertainment president Michael Thorn shared a schedule stating the show will get back on track before 2023 ends, and we can see it in the May-June releases of 2024. That is only if the strikes end by October 1, 2023, whose chances seem low. Station 19 is not on Fox and is an ABC original, but all are working in collaboration to arrange cast and crew as times are tough.

But will Theo and Sullivan be okay with that? With no details on the storyline, we can also expect Sullivan’s acceptance, considering Andy’s rapport with him, but Theo’s ego can cause trouble. Vic and Theo’s relationship can be in focus when signs of struggle are seen when he was a captain, when they had people considering suicide, and a lot of new things unfold.
