S.W.A.T. Season 7: When will the filming start?

S.W.A.T. Season 7 Has the production begun

“Tim might be the one out there shooting people, but this all falls back on you and this centre. Don’t think we don’t know that.”

From being briefly canceled to getting revived because of the fandom, the journey of S.W.A.T Season 7 is surely remarkable! The wonderful show is loved by several and is an inspiration to several others. The show was briefly canceled after airing its sixth season finale. However, later, in May 2023, the Show was revived for its final season, especially after an outcry from fans regarding its cancellation. CBS eventually reversed its decision to reinstate the series for a seventh season with 13 episodes.

Now fans have gone beyond and above to know all about the series finale season, so without wasting any more time, let’s roll on!

Has the production for S.W.A.T Season 7 began?

Before we start digging further to find out the truth, let’s take a moment to appreciate the crew who made the series possible. All thanks to Aaron Rahsaan Thomas and Shawn Ryan for developing the series. Also, thanks or Robert Hamner and Ricky Husky, who created the original S.W.A.T series, on which the show is based. Now that we are done with this let’s get back to the main issue, which is S.W.A.T Season 7.

The good news is the show has been renewed! The bad one is the writing for the script hasn’t started yet, so it’s a long shot for the filming to take place anytime soon! Hopefully, you al late aware of the Ong strikes in the Hollywood entertainment industry. WGA strike ( Writers Guild of America), as per the title, is done by the Writers, and SAG-AFTRA strikes are done from the Actors’ side. Both strikes captured the production houses’ attention and caused them to stop their work.

Due to these strikes, we don’t have a script for S.W.A.T Season 7, and the cast who’ll be back is still in the dark. Like the fans’ expectations for some cast to return, no matter how unlikely it seems! These casts could be:

  • Stephanie Sigman known as Captain Jessica Cortez,
  • Lina Esco known as Chris Alonso
  • Peter Onorati as Jeff Mumford,
  • Amy Farrington as Lieutenant Piper Lynch

Hopefully, we’ll get the chance to watch them one last time. Until then, let’s see when we can expect the seventh season to return.

When can we expect S.W.A.T. Season 7 to air?

Now that we have discussed the delayed production process, we can continue guessing the release date for S.W.A.T. Season 7. To be honest, we were supposed to watch the seventh season in the fall of 2023. Why? According to the pattern, the six installments released its first episode in the fall season and aired its last episode in May month. As much as we would have been delighted for the seventh season to repeat the pattern, it’s highly unlikely to take place in 2023.

Due to the writers, CBS has postponed its fall schedule to the first installment of the year. So we can expect to watch S.W.A.T. Season 7 in the first half of 2024. According to George Cheeks, President and CEO of CBS and Chief Content Officer, stated during a keynote at Banff moderated by Deadline’s Peter White:

“We wanted to build our schedule for when the world goes back to normal.” Further adding, “Once we had done that, once we locked it in, we spent a lot of time focusing on what it was going to look like.” He elaborated that a revised CBS fall scheduling plan is expected to be revealed soon. “First of all, obviously it’s going to be very reality-heavy,” he added.
