The final episode, simply titled “So Long, Farewell,” is now confirmed to air next week on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, on Apple TV+. The episode is written by Brendan Hunt, Joe Kelly, and Jason Sudeikis. The official synopsis of the episode states, “AFC Richmond play their final match of the season.” So, the plot of the finale will pick up from the penultimate episode, “Mom City,” which was directed by Declan Lowney and written by Brendan Hunt, Jason Sudeikis, and Joe Kelly.

*Spoiler Alert*

In the episode, the viewers got to see that Ted is concerned when his mother, Dottie, arrives in London. However, Nathan declines their offer to continue working at Jade’s restaurant. The squad flies to Manchester to play Manchester City when Roy finds Jamie acting gloomy. While assisting Colin, Jamie hurts his ankle. Coach Beard grants Nathan permission to return, and in exchange, Beard grants Nathan forgiveness and a position with the team. Ted and Dottie talk about their problems from the past and their concerns about having children. So far, in the third season of Ted Lasso, the newly-promoted AFC Richmond faces ridicule as media predictions widely peg them to finish last in the Premier League and Nate, now hailed as the “wonder kid,” has gone to work for Rupert at West Ham United.

In the wake of Nate’s contentious departure from Richmond, Roy Kent steps up as assistant coach, alongside Beard. Meanwhile, while Ted deals with pressures at work, he continues to wrestle with his own personal issues back home, Rebecca is focused on defeating Rupert and Keeley navigates being the boss of her own PR agency. Things seem to be falling apart both on and off the pitch, but Team Lasso is set to give it their best shot anyway.

We have highlighted some interesting takes right here: According to Reddit user u/onekrazykat, Ted and Rebecca will be together, quote, “Sorry people who don’t like this. But the more I re-watch, the more I think it’s end-game for the series.”

On the other hand, Ted will finally find his happiness! According to Reddit user u/LightningVole, quote, “Ted loves his son and misses being a more active parent. Henry lives in Kansas City, which is home to Sporting KC, one of the original MLS teams. My guess is that the season ends with Ted taking a job back in Kansas City with Sporting KC.”

Ted Lasso Season 3 Cast and Crew

The main cast members of the series include Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso, an American football coach hired to manage a British soccer team — despite having no experience. But what he lacks in knowledge, he makes up for with optimism, underdog determination, and biscuits. The award-winning Apple Original comedy also stars Hannah Waddingham, Brendan Hunt, Jeremy Swift, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Phil Dunster, Nick Mohammed, and Sarah Niles.

In addition to starring, Sudeikis serves as executive producer, alongside Bill Lawrence via his Doozer Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television, a division of NBCUniversal Content. Doozer’s Jeff Ingold also serves as an executive producer with Liza Katzer as co-executive producer. The series was developed by Sudeikis, Lawrence, Joe Kelly, and Brendan Hunt, and is based on the pre-existing format and characters from NBC Sports.

Ted Lasso Season 3: Is it really the final season?

We can affirm to the fans that the network has also not made any comments about the fourth season because the third season was always intended to be the show’s last season because executive producer and star Jason Sudeikis and a number of other people were preoccupied with trying to wrap up the current plot.

Nearly everyone involved has been implying for months that “Ted Lasso,” would end after these shows.

Star Brett Goldstein was cautious with his words in a Variety podcast from last July. At the moment, he explained, “It’s written as, in the story we have been telling will reach a conclusion,” he said at the time. Further adding, “And that’s how it was always planned. That doesn’t necessarily mean it can’t continue. But it’s a kind of three-act conclusion to this story.”

Sudeikis also stated, quoting, “The rewrites were the same as we’ve always done,” he says. “If anything, the endeavor took as long as it did because of just how dense the stories are. … And so while we’re flattered by the curiosity of ‘Is this the final season,’ the fact is that content-wise if you just go by running time, this season has a Season 4 within itself.”

Some cast members have discussed potential spin-offs, so there’s a chance we might still see them—just maybe not in Ted Lasso. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens next. Until then, the viewers can stream all the episodes exclusively on Apple TV+ and on the Apple TV+ app, which offers a selection of membership tiers. Apple TV+ offers premium, compelling series which are available to watch across all your favorite screens.
