Food is often the best way to most of our hearts. Nothing can calm us better than the blissful aroma arising from our favorite dishes at any time of the day. In the era of fancy subways, how many of us remember the days when sandwiches dripping with mayonnaise, cucumber, and lettuce would make us drool? Well, many shops still retain that retro touch and provide you with those same dishes with a modern touch.
Therefore, shows that revolve around food are also adored. They form an instant emotional connection. One such show is The Bear. While the name can seem odd for a show that is dealing with yummy sandwiches, it can also be a symbol of the resilience and strength the bear has once a crisis hits. Released in 2022, this satirical comedy-drama has had two successful seasons now, and the fans are wondering if there will be any update on season three. Let us find out.
The Bear Season 3 Renewal Update: Will we get any news this fall?
This show is officially an FX Network and Hulu creation available to stream on Disney+Hotstar. After fans loved the second season, there should have been a renewal update soon, but there does not seem to be any buzz around the renewal or cancelation. It is all silence, which is ambiguous. With the second season being renewed after the first completed airing, within a month in June 2023, it is not surprising to have updates on season three.
The reasons why The Bear season 3 should be renewed are,
- Massive critical and viewership success
- Season 1 earning 13 Emmy Nominations
- Being FX’s most-watched single-season
- Most watched premiere episode on FX and Disney+Hotstar
- Most Streamed TV Show across all platforms in the United States during the week ending June 25, 2023
- Good audience reception
- Rotten Tomatoes Score of 99%
- Google critic review rating of 92%
- IMDb rating of 8.6/10
- Metacritic average score of 90/100
With so many reasons, we should expect a renewal this fall, but the following can be the reasons to not see any updates this fall,
- The Writer’s Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA Strikes
- The show survived and airing during the strikes
- The second season just completed recently
- Hulu, FX, and Disney+Hotstar to come up to a production consensus on costs
For these reasons, we can expect an announcement in 2024, after negotiations with AMTMP and the ending of the strikes.
If the show returns, in the cast, we can see,
- Jeremy Allen White as Carmy
- Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richie
- Ayo Edebiri as Sydney
- Abby Elliott as Natalie
- Liza Colón-Zayas as Tina
- Edwin Lee Gibson as Ebra
- Matty Matheson as Neil Fak
- Lionel Boyce as Marcus
- Oliver Platt as Uncle Jimmy
- Chris Witaske as Pete
- Molly Gordon as Claire
The show revolves around a young chef who comes to Chicago and runs his family’s sandwich shop after a death in his family. When the realities hit, what will he do? The Bear is the name of the restaurant, and it sees a successful opening night despite the obstacles and hardships, like faulty fridge doors and notorious staff members. What happens once the restaurant opens is what the show will explore.
The lead actor, Ebon, teased the plot, saying it could be about daily insider things of the kitchen and how to manage them. He says, “The first season we meet the restaurant. And then the second season is creating a new iteration of the restaurant and it ends on the first day. So now I’m curious to see what the day-to-day life is and if it’s sustainable. That would be a third season in my mind is like, okay, so what is the new thing like? Because they don’t really get to see it too much.”
