Will the hit series return for another season this month or not? Here is everything we know so far about The Cleaning Lady Season 3.
It looks like the chance to embark on another thrilling cleaning adventure will continue as the highly anticipated third season of “The Cleaning Lady,” will finally grace the television screens in a while! Yes, you heard it right. After months of anticipation regarding the fate of the series for the future, the fans were overjoyed with delight when the Fox network confirmed that the series had been officially renewed for a third season earlier this year, in February 2023.
The renewal was not surprising as the series has been one of the best running series in the catalog for the crime drama genre, which has captivated audiences worldwide by delving deep into the clandestine world of a skilled and enigmatic cleaning lady who finds herself entangled in a web of danger and intrigue. After all, it was the heart-pounding plot twists and exceptional performances that have been an absolute rollercoaster ride that drew the interest of the viewers for the last two seasons!
Due to this, the interest among the fans has grown more than ever, especially after witnessing how the second season ended with a major cliffhanger that has been lingering over our minds for months, making the fans speculate if there’s any hope for the show’s official return with brand new episodes in August 2023 or not.
So, if you have the same questions, then you’ve reached the right place to get all the answers here at Web News Observer! As a special treat for you, we have compiled a list of all the recent updates relating to the potential release date right here for you! Continue reading to learn more about The Cleaning Lady Season 3.
The Cleaning Lady Season 3 Release Date: Will it premiere in August 2023?
Ever since the beloved series was renewed for a third season for the 2023–24 broadcast season, no updates about the release date have been confirmed by the FOX network. As a result, there is no chance that the beloved crime drama television series, which is developed by Miranda Kwok, and based on the 2017 Argentinian television series La chica que limpia will be returning with a new season in August 2023. But if you’re wondering when the potential release window will be set, then we can assure the readers that, right now, everything relating to this subject is currently filled with uncertainty!
One of the main reasons for the delay in disclosing these details is the emergence of the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike along with the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, which has put a lot of writers’ room into a temporary halt unless a resolution regarding fair compensation for all the writers and actors efforts is made in their favor. It is the first time in 63 years that Hollywood has a double strike on its hands. This situation doesn’t seem to stop anytime soon, for which we speculate that The Cleaning Lady Season 3 has also fallen into the tangled web.
Moreover, in a recent negotiation meeting which was held for the first time in more than three months! Sadly, the Writers Guild and the AMPTP on Friday failed to reach an agreement to resume contract negotiations. Their inability to agree on terms for returning to the bargaining table comes after their much-anticipated meeting to discuss a possible resumption of talks. “As of now, there is no agreement on these items, because the AMPTP said they needed to consult with their member studios before moving forward,” the union said in a statement last week.
Due to this, we are certain that the season’s production will be delayed further!
Hence, it’s safe to say that the series might not even premiere this year at all because there is no chance that the network will be able to release the third season for FOX’s 2023–24 fall primetime schedule or anywhere close to the end of this year because even if the filming commences by the end of the summer season, then it will take a lot of time to complete the entire shoot with respect to post-production, due to which the series seems more likely to premiere sometime around early to mid-2024, which is the first quarter (January to March) at the same time slot of 9 p.m. ET.
In order to fill the empty slots in the fall schedule, we speculated that FOX might also follow in the same footsteps of its competitor network and decided to incorporate unscripted shows along with reruns of the prior seasons in case the fans haven’t streamed them before. In conclusion, until there is any official confirmation, we suggest the viewers be patient and follow all the social media platforms to be updated with the latest updates. Additionally, the official Twitter handle also confirmed the renewal, quoting, “Oh, nothing major, just that…#THECLEANINGLADY IS RETURNING FOR SEASON 3.”

The Cleaning Lady Season 3 Plot: What to expect from the new season?
The series is based on the original Argentine series. The Cleaning Lady stars Élodie Yung as Thony, a doctor who comes to the U.S. for medical treatment to save her ailing son. But when the system fails, she becomes a cleaning lady for the mob and starts playing the game by her own rules. The series is expected to continue and explore the plot further from the final episode of the second season, “At Long Last,” which aired on December 12, 2022, and was watched by 2.09 million US viewers.
The episode is directed by Milan Cheylov and written by Miranda Kwok. If you recall, in the second season’s finale (check out the promo below), the viewers saw that Thony (Yung) was confronted by FBI Agent Garrett Miller (Oliver Hudson) about Arman’s (Adan Canto) part in Maya’s (Chelsea Frei) death, while Nadia (Eva De Dominici) tries to stay on Robert Kamdar’s (Naveen Andrews) good side. Despite being warned to stay clear of Kamdar, Thony decides to take matters into her own hands to protect Fiona (Martha Millan) and ensure the safety of her family.
“After two heart-pounding seasons, we’re thrilled with how audiences have latched on to this incredible story,” said Michael Thorn, President of Scripted Programming, at Fox Entertainment. Further adding, “The cast, led by the incomparable Élodie Yung, along with our brilliant creative team and our partners at Warner Bros. Television has expertly crafted a highly compelling, emotionally-driven show that gives a perspective you don’t often see on television.”
Idk I kinda miss them. 😭

Channing Dungey, Chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Television Group, said, “The Cleaning Lady is a gripping and masterful tale of a mother who will do anything for her child. I am thrilled that we get to continue to explore Thony’s world in the third season. A big thank you to our partners at Fox for providing a platform for this show to thrive, to Miranda Kwok for developing such a powerful story, and to Melissa Carter for her leadership during the first two seasons. We are excited about Jeannine Renshaw joining the creative team, and I can’t wait for audiences to see what Miranda and Jeannine have in store for season three.”
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunners Miranda Kwok and Melissa Carter explained the big moment, which saw Garrett being fatally wounded in a shootout, saying, “We love Oliver Hudson so much and we loved his character, but it started to feel like this season we wanted to show that crime does have consequences.” The showrunners also discussed the status of Thony and Armand’s relationship leading into the third season, sharing:
“They have a relationship that is so unique and it’s never going to be one thing or easy. There’s this chemistry that brings them together and yet all these circumstances are still going to pull them apart. The relationship is evolving and there are different directions it can go depending on how difficult it will be to get Fiona back. Or what new criminal ventures they’re going to go into. There is still this interesting love triangle with Nadia. Is she going to stick around to put up with it or will she become more of a nemesis? Those are all options to explore.”
The Cleaning Lady Season 3 Cast: Who will and will not reprise their roles?
Even though not much has been revealed, we speculate that the main cast members are expected to reprise their roles which are as follows: Élodie Yung as Thony De La Rosa, Adan Canto as Arman Morales, Martha Millan as Fiona De La Rosa, Sebastien and Valentino LaSalle as Luca De La Rosa, Sean Lew as Chris, Faith Bryant as Jaz, and Eva De Dominici as Nadia Morales. On the other hand, we can assume Garrett’s death is the final goodbye as we shouldn’t expect actor Oliver Hudson as Garrett Miller to return in Season 3.
Additionally, there is another cast member from the second season who we shouldn’t expect to return. Can you guess? Yes! It’s Naveen Andrews as Robert Kamdar, who won’t be reprising his role in the third season either, as his character was also killed off in the season 2 finale. As for Robert’s death, Carter told Deadline, “We always knew that Naveen Andrews’ character was going to be someone that was just going to be [in the series] one season, and we wanted it to be a thrill ride.”
On the other hand, the recurring cast from the prior seasons who are expected to reprise their roles includes the following Navid Negahban as Hayak Barsamian, Ivan Shaw as Marco De La Rosa, Jay Mohr as Councilman Eric Knight, Liza Weil as Katherine Russo, Shiva Negar as Isabel Barsamian, Chelsea Frei as Maya Campbell, K.C. Collins as Tyler Jefferson, and Ryan Sands as JD Harris. Of course, some new cast members may be introduced, which will be disclosed later.
Additionally, Jeannine Renshaw has also joined the show as an executive producer and will serve as showrunner with Miranda Kwok. The series was developed by executive producer Kwok and executive-produced by showrunner Melissa Carter and executive producers Shay Mitchell, David Dean Portelli, Rose Marie Vega, and Paola Suarez. It was produced in partnership between Fox Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television.
The Cleaning Lady Season 3 Episodes: Where to stream?
Although the exact episode count for The Cleaning Lady Season 3 has yet to be announced. We expect the season to have at least 10 to 12 episodes with a runtime of 43 to 45 minutes, similar to the previous two seasons. We would also like to highlight that the number of episodes may vary depending on the theme that the show wishes to convey to the audience. We would also like to highlight that the filming has been put on hold because of the ongoing dual strikes, and the chances of the network releasing details about the new episodes are minimal in order to avoid spoilers.
So, there is no way that the network will be able to release any new promotional material along with the official titles and synopsis for these new episodes. Hence, for the time being, we request the viewers be patient and stream all the previous seasons to be updated with the theme.
When released, The Cleaning Lady Season 3, along with all the prior two seasons, will be available to stream for free on Fox Network. In addition to this, the other streaming platforms include HBO Max (now known as MAX), Hulu, Peacock, and FuboTV, with a vast number of membership plans according to the preferences of the users. The Cleaning Lady Season 3 Official Trailer: Is it available?
As stated above, the network hasn’t released any new promos for the third season as filming hasn’t yet commenced, leaving a lot of time for the official marketing to begin, which usually begins a month or two before the premiere. We’ll just have to wait and see what the next few months have in store for us in relation to the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike along with the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, as everything concerning the filming status is also neither here nor there! Due to this, we are certain that no new promos will be released anytime soon.
In the meantime, check out the official trailer for The Cleaning Lady Season 2, which showcases that The Cleaning Lady continues to examine the plight of Thony De La Rosa as she navigates the criminal underworld to protect her family. Galvanized by the many roadblocks, Thony faced while searching for a treatment to save her son. She will utilize her expertise as a doctor to find ways to help her underserved community. However, as Thony continues to entwine her business undertakings with Arman, she once again crosses the moral line into the dark underbelly of Las Vegas.
