In order to prevent any confusion, we have gathered all the information you’ll need to know about this series’ future plans. The Conners Season 6 Release Date: When will it return?
As of writing this, we can confirm to the readers that the potential release date for the sixth season hasn’t been disclosed, as it is way too early to confirm such information. But if we have to predict the potential release date of The Conners Season 6, then it is expected to premiere sometime in 2024, skipping the 2023 fall release window, as it will be replaced with a Steve Harvey show, which will be a long wait!
Of course! This is just our assumption and nothing has been confirmed yet.
On the other hand, when we talk about the exact time slot for the series, we think that the network might not opt to drastically change the rollout schedule, and it is assumed to keep premiering new episodes every Wednesday at 8/7c on ABC and later available to stream on Hulu. So, we suggest that the fans should patiently wait until these details are officially revealed by the network.
In the meantime, check out the official renewal announcement as shared on ABC’s Twitter handle, quoting, “Your favorite family is back for a sixth season #TheConners” Take a look at the post below:

The Conners Season 6 Production Status
As you know, the series was renewed for a sixth season earlier this month, on May 16, 2023. So, asking for the production status seems way too early, as it usually takes a month or two before the writing process is complete for the crew to even begin the production of the new episodes. On the other hand, there is a major writer’s strike underway, which can cause delays in the filming process.
The recent reports also suggest that many production houses and writers’ rooms have halted their work and won’t be returning for some time until a proper resolution is made for the writers to get their desired pay for devoting so much time to creating these shows. Hence, we can expect filming to resume sometime by the middle or end of 2023 if it doesn’t want to delay its final season.
As a result, we have highlighted the potential release window of next year instead of fall 2023, as there is a high chance that the show creators might also not want to take the risk of starting the production just to halt it again until the problem is resolved. Therefore, it’s feasible that they will choose to air the show’s final season without any disruptions in 2024! We’ll just have to wait and see what decision will be made.

The Conners Season 6: What to expect in the next season?
Not much has been revealed about the sixth season’s plot, but the new season is expected to explore the basic premise, which follows, “The Conners continue to face the daily struggles of life in Lanford. This iconic family—Dan, Jackie, Darlene, and Becky – grapples with parenthood, dating, financial pressures, and aging in working-class America. Through it all – the fights, the coupon cutting, the hand-me-downs, the breakdowns – with love, humor, and perseverance, the family prevails.”
The sixth season is also expected to pick up the plot from the final episode, “The Grad Finale,” of the fifth season, which was directed by Jody Margolin Hahn and written by Dave Caplan, Emily Wilson, Bruce Helford, Jana Hunter, and Mitch Hunter. In the episode, Mark can only invite three guests to his high school graduation. Darlene is upset when he asks his absent father, David, saying Ben has been a better dad.
Louise offers to host a graduation party at the Lunch Box, then contends with everyone requesting different fun activities. Mark eventually realizes how much Ben has done for him and disinvites David. Mark and Louise hold a family graduation ceremony for Dan, Becky, Jackie, and Harris, who either had disappointing commencements or earned a GED. The family then heads to a game arcade where everyone can enjoy their preferred activity.
The series stars John Goodman as Dan Conner, Laurie Metcalf as Jackie Harris, Sara Gilbert as Darlene Conner, Lecy Goranson as Becky Conner, Michael Fishman as D.J. Conner, Emma Kenney as Harris Healy, Ames McNamara as Mark Healy II, Jayden Rey as Mary Conner, and Jay R. Ferguson as Ben Olinsky. The Conners is executive produced by Tom Werner, along with Sara Gilbert, Bruce Helford, Dave Caplan, Bruce Rasmussen, and Tony Hernandez. The series is from Werner Entertainment.
Additionally, executive producer Bruce Helford hinted that the ABC sitcom could be heading into its last season to TVLine, quote: “Sara Gilbert expressed to the network that we don’t want to go out without knowing that we are going out with a series finale so we can build to the right ending — and at this point in time, we feel that [next season] is possibly going to be the last season of The Conners.” Helford continued, “I would not [say that] definitively because the numbers were so good this season, and we’ve all had a really great time… but it’s definitely a possibility.”
The Conners Season 6: Episodes and Streaming Options
The next season is reported to be picked up for 13 episodes, with an option for nine more if the story has more to offer and the viewership is steady enough for the creators to continue the plot further. Additionally, it has also been reported to be a comparatively short season, depending on the potential writer’s strike and how long it would last.
In the exclusive interview with TVLine, Helford added: “There may only be 13 episodes. Obviously, we always want to do 20 or 22 [episodes], but at this point in time, we’re talking about if we can do 13 — God willing — and if we can do more, we’ll do more.” The episode count is subject to vary, therefore, we advise viewers to catch up with earlier episodes to get a sense of how the plot could develop in the next sixth season.
We highly urge viewers to catch up with the prior episodes in order to get an idea of how the story can be carried forward in the sixth season. The Conners have continued to be one of ABC’s highest-rated sitcoms, with Season 5 kicking off with a premiere that drew 3.7 million live and same-day viewers and a 0.53 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Overall, the season averaged about 3.8 million live and same-day viewers per episode and 0.5 in the demo.
All the episodes of The Conners are currently available on ABC, FuboTV, and Hulu Plus. The show is also available to stream for rent or purchase on Amazon Instant Video, iTunes, and Vudu, with membership plans according to the preference of the users. So, it is time for you to renew your membership plans and explore another genre of TV series and movies from the massive catalog that the streaming service offers its members worldwide.
