With a positive update of The Diplomat Season 2 renewal, let’s revive our memories of what exactly happened at the first season finale! We remember Kate & his wonderful husband, Hal. The duo is dealing with the security of the US while trying to handle their exhausted marriage. Kate as the U.S. ambassador & Hal, the former ambassador, are both chaotic as Kate is always cleaning up after Hal is trying to do something heroic but eventually screws up.
Since we all are aware of how a car blew up after Kate learned about Hal’s doing at the gala, she believes that Russia was behind the attack on the U.K. With the Prime Minister’s advice, she and her colleagues decide to assassinate a Russian soldier. But their plans are foiled when Hal, Stuart, and Hayward are all caught in the blast instead. And to make matters worse, they discover the Prime Minister orchestrated the original attack for his nefarious reasons. Now, all the answers lie in the second installment. Let’s see when we can expect its release!
Everything you need to know about The Diplomat Season 2:
Before we jump-digging to find our answers, let’s take our moment to thank Debora Cahn for creating such an addicting series. We mean, The Diplomat isn’t like the ordinary series. The fun & comedy are full-blown, with a mixture of political drama with onboarding action. While the series has been renewed for a second installment in May 2023, fans are still debating to know how long they gonna wait.
After Netflix announced in January 2022 the development of The Diplomat, it took nearly 17 months to get it released. Since the final episode got out on April 20, 2023, we gotta assume it’s going to release in April or May 2024. Although if the writer’s strike doesn’t get solved in time. In the meantime, let’s see what Jinny Howe, Netflix’s vice president, said about the show, “Fans around the world are loving every minute of The Diplomat‘s gripping and propulsive drama, and embracing Keri Russell’s powerful performance as Kate Wyler.
Further, he added, “After that jaw-dropping cliffhanger, we can’t wait for them to see what the amazing visionary team of Debora Cahn, Janice Williams, and Keri Russell have in store for The Diplomat Season 2.” If we see the focus the other way around, the audience has loved the series.
This comes as no surprise, given the show was viewed for more than 57.48 million hours during its first weekend of release, meaning it was ranked number one among Netflix’s English-language series in the US, and ranked in the top 10 in 86 other countries. Since we are clear on how long we have to wait or how much fans love the show, fans are worried if their favorite cast will return. As of now, nothing has been disclosed apart from the renewal status yet. We do know the original cast will be back.
